• What should I upgrade?

I do believe my system is pretty good right now, but with a bit of extra Christmas cash, I hope to spend that bit on my computer. I was thinking of upgrading the CPU but I'm not really sure.. I was also thinking of a major overhaul (new mobo, new processor, sli the 460, etc.) but I don't believe I'll be doing that. So my budget is about $120. I can sell parts getting replaced. Oh and temps are high because my room is really hot.
Quite dependant on if you can sell of some parts or not.
Quite dependant on if you can sell of some parts or not.
Yes, I can but I would prefer not to sell the GTX 460. Actually selling the GTX 460 is a no go because it's a gift.
I'd upgrade your CPU with this http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5692033&CatId=4431 or this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103995

Is it possible to get the Phenom OEM and use the Athlon II's cooler? I would suppose so but using the cooler I already have could save some money. Oh and how much do you think I could sell an Athlon II for without the cooler?

Upgrading a balanced PC is wasting of money. Save up, and buy a whole new one later, when this is outdated.

Or buy an SSD to store your windows and startup programs onto
His current CPU is just going to bottleneck him in the future, its not wasting money.
His current CPU is just going to bottleneck him in the future, its not wasting money.
Thats why I think I am not hitting the cap for fps on this card. Runs well, no doubt but I have seen videos surpassing my performance tenfold.
I thought 3.1GHz @ 4 cores should be pretty plenty and not bottlenecking his current setup.
I thought 3.1GHz @ 4 cores should be pretty plenty and not bottlenecking his current setup.
Its not the speed and the cores, its the cache is what I think. I have only got a 2MB L2 Cache which I believe the bottlenecking is coming from.

The athlons are low budget CPU's and are practically outdated. [editline]25th December 2011[/editline]
Its not the speed and the cores, its the cache is what I think.
