Same, I thought Chechnya was an even bigger, and more blown up pile of rubble than Syria

After Kadyrov gained control in Chechnya with the support of the Russian government, he got massive amounts of funds to have Grozny lavishly rebuilt. Shit was pretty much completely demolished anyways

There's been some murmurs that the Islamic State has established a presence in the North Caucasus. One of their leaders was killed recently in a FSB raid. But they're starting to gain more traction, especially as fighters are beginning to return from Syria

This is funny... if you google "Chechnya" it will show ruined buildings and war (soviet time era), while a lot has changed since the war.

Watch closely, you can clearly see that they live in Russia because even though an officer is firing full auto only 20-15m away, people still peek and film what's going on.
And Jesus Christ, I love the amount of money that was split between the federal government and Chechnya's one. Friends of Putin and Kadyrov must've netted a lot of dosh with that.
life is never dull in grozny

Of course they did. They have to take credit in something they loss, completely.
Good on the Chechnyan(sp?) security forces making quick work of the scum.
