• Monitor keeps going black

Title. It doesn't matter what I'm doing, it just goes black with no warning besides a slight dimness that occurs seconds before. It's been getting very old, and it's been making things unnecessarily difficult for me. I have only had this problem recently. Any idea what's wrong? Edit: By the way, it's JUST the monitor that does this, nothing to do with the computer, it seems.
For starters, give us the run down on your computer. THIS NEEDS TO BE DONE EVERY TIME YOU POST A QUESTION LIKE THIS. ie The brand, the type of computer(laptop, desktop, etc), the OS, and any thing else.
It's a cyberpower desktop computer that runs on windows.
It's a cyberpower desktop computer that runs on windows.
More please. Windows is generic, and there are versions, so tell me the version (vista, XP, ...F#^%ing 98). Also tell me about your video card and your display's refresh rate (the one that says Hz). Maybe also tell me about the monitor too. Actually, it might just be the monitor...did you try another yet?

I'll try and swap the monitor for my roommate's when he's away, since they're pretty much the same model.
More info would be nice.. FOr example when does this happen and have you tried to fix it yourself + how do you know its not your pc thats flawed? Does te screen still display the screen options menu?
