I cant wait for it to be $5. Titanfall is really fun but not worth $60. $20 at most.
I cant wait for it to be $5. $40 does seem like a more reasonable pricetag for what it's probably gonna be. Though either way, let's hope that it has WAY more content than the original. Because let's be honest, original Titanfall was a cool game, but it just didn't have enough variety on launch. If they fixed the scarcity problem for Titanfall 2, then it may yet have hope of not dwindling too quickly.
I wonder how many sales they lost to people who didn't want to bother with Origin to get the game.

Titanfall was rad as shit they better do more cool things with the titans this time around
I wonder how many sales they lost to people who didn't want to bother with Origin to get the game.
Probably not enough for them to care.
A server browser would be nice. I'd forgive a $60 content light, MP only game if it was at the very least furnished with the things we've come to expect from online FPS games on the PC. Although Respawn seems largely convinced that server browsers and player hosted servers are evil. So I expect the TF2 playerbase to shrivel up and die 2-6 months after launch when players have exhausted all the content and have no communities, no mods and no interest in $20, $30, $50 season passes that just split up the dwindling playerbase.

This is going to be confusing post-launch.
$40 does seem like a more reasonable pricetag for what it's probably gonna be.
$40 for as said, an online only game is pretty ridiculous still, considering it's not mmo-sized, or technically doesn't need a server farm to stay alive (no, i'm not interested either way)
I'm willing to pay full price for a multiplayer only game as long as it's good, which Titanfall most certainly was. Too bad it died so quickly.
I hope they don't ruin it by trying to make it appeal to everyone. At the same time I hope it becomes a hit because it's a shame how quickly the first game died.
tf2 was well worth the 50 euros i paid for it back in the day. then again, it also came with hl2, ep1 and ep2, and portal so that's not even a fair comparison lol
he meant Titanfall 2, not TF2 Game was good, but it jus was lacking in content, which arrived too late and split up the dwindling playerbase even further. What a waste.
i know he meant titanfall 2, i was just making a comparison to another multiplayer only game that didn't had THAT much content on launch and also costed around the same price range.
the difference is that they kept expanding on Team Fortress 2 for free at quite a rate
I've a feeling that Respawn will really take from the mistakes they made with Titanfall. Which is to say, the mistakes were that there was relatively little content, and outside of Prestiging, there wasn't any true progression in the game. And actually, I don't need more than three different titans. Some more customization is all they need, like paint, emblems, maybe increase shield strength but lose something else in the process etc.
I really liked Titanfall, it was a fantastic game that lacked content. I just wanted more of it for $60. Hopefully there are more weapons and maps than the 1st one.
I wonder how many sales they lost to people who didn't want to bother with Origin to get the game.
not enough to warrant letting valve take their usual cut from steam, i'd assume
I wonder how many sales they lost to people who didn't want to bother with Origin to get the game.
Probably not as many people as you'd think.
The fact that they made the map packs free makes me feel optimitic about how they will handle them in 2
Well they straight up said maps would be free for Titanfall 2
Well they straight up said maps would be free for Titanfall 2
Oh sick. Hadn't heard about that.

Problem with Titanfall is that it didn't really have the capacity to keep people playing that long.
I didn't ever find titanfall boring or the lack of content to be a problem because what was there was really fun. I stopped playing because no matter how good I got at the game, I'd always get killed by some lkjsfbsdfbnsmnbrkjbfdsmf with a smart pistol

The thing that everyone uses and is super borked. Battlefront has the DL44, CoD has quickscoping and the entire SMG class, Battlefield (namely Bad Company 2) had the AN91 i think it was and tons of recons. You're never really gonna escape it.
The smart pistol was pretty balanced. If you waited for the lock ons even with enhanced targeting it had a slower TTK than pretty much every other weapon in the game, meaning if you aimed with just about anything else you could kill a smart pistol user. I died to it plenty of times sure but I never consistently died to the same player. There was never a time where a player got a huge KDR with a smart pistol, where I was like "damn we lost that match because he was really good with the smart pistol". It was mostly used by mediocre to average players because good players would have more success with just about everything else. The default R101C is amazing, one of the best weapons in a modern FPS and the Hemlok was downright overpowered.
I hope this time around it's not Multiplayer only, that's what really killed it for me in the first game
God damn, I hope they'll bring back the EVA-8 because with the amount of mobility you had in the game, shotgunning is one of the most satisfying things you could do.
