Painkiller is awesome, but the price seems unfairly high for a game that is mostly a remake.

but its so extreme!!!! no killstreaks or ak47 just 666 (lolamirightguys) calibre weapons!!! so awsome!
Love Painkiller, and seeing this... oh this is amazing.
I'm going to buy this, I loved the original.

It'd be better at $15 but $20 isn't bad.
Goddamnit stop making more games!
I already bought a shitload of them, I don't want to buy more D:
Going to pick this up for a few friends and me, Painkiller with coop looks like incredible fun. Just wondering how many player coop it'll be, some site said that it might only be two player coop.

Why don't you just stop buying them then?
Those pre-order rewards are new. Pretty cool too.

It seems fair to me. They appear to have effectively re-created the game and all its assets from scratch, which is a hell of a lot of work.

Not all the levels have been re-created.
never really was a fan of the painkiller games
I pre-ordered this and got a game called "ValveTestApp214889".
I'm confused. Is this just a remake of Painkiller? How different will it be?
The game IS using unreal engine 3 so i dont think its just a remake since you cant port stuff cross engines
It won't be a full re-creation of the original from start to finish, just more popular levels are included, which even then have been modified.
Just more gimmicky stuff has been added.

But I want them.
Sort of doing a collection of old school types.
Oh man I remember playing the old painkiller (and completing) some days after I turned 6. No shit.
I'm going to preorder this in a heartbeat, as soon as I have the money for it. I've been playing the original in the past few days, and seeing this really get's some hype going for me!
And it does have Co-op too, so it's gonna be playable with friends, killin' fat bosses. Not a bad deal if you ask me, it's not just a remake.

Wow, you really have NO idea, do you?
Shurikens and Lightning!

Coding may be new, but they can bring over the models, assets, sounds, etc. And it likely isn't hard to replicate or convert the mechanics and such with said new coding.
That's like saying Half-Life: Source has entirely new content because it's on Source instead of GoldSrc like the original Half-Life.

Except that Source isn't entirely different from GoldSrc (I know it is, but not by the margin of Pain 2.0 vs UE3)

Too bad that gun is actually terrible.

Okay, so it wasn't a good example. Couldn't think of an engine-to-engine game port. Crysis on the 360 isn't a good example either since it's literally brought over from one iteration of Cryengine to the other.

It doesn't really matter though, your point still stands.
I would pre-order but I am kind of afraid buying remakes of old games, usually they are just rubbish.
I feel dumb now for just now realizing that "Hell & Damnation" is "HD". :v:

I didn't realize it until just now that you pointed it out :v:
