Hey Facepunch, This guy at work gave me this piece of hardware, and I'm trying to figure out what it is, and what to use it for. He gave me two cards, one that says: "SATA RAID" It's rather small, and black. The other is also rather small, but much longer than the other, it reads. "RAID CONTRLR" Any help would be amazing, thanks in advance.
Do you not know what RAID is?
Don't send him to the Wiki page. Basically, in extreme dumbed-down speak, RAID is a controller for your hard drives that combines them into one drive thingy. Or that's at least all that I use it for. I think some motherboards may have it inbuilt.
Yes, my motherboard has support for it, but only in the 2 "GSATA" ports.
