Being developed by Interceptor Software, the new first-person shooter will arrive on PC via Steam "later this year", the game will don a single-player campaign and "full featured" multiplayer offerings.
Players will take control of one of five members of the H.U.N.T. (High-Risk United Nations Taskforce) group, each with different abilities and play styles, and blast their way through 20 levels.
The '94 original was known for its selection of mental weapons and the new game will stick to the tradition, with the Flamewall, Firebomb, Split Missile, Drunk Missile and the Excalibat just some of the shooters set to return.
It's bizarre gameplay-changing modes will also return, including God mode, Elasto mode, Mercury mode, Shrooms mode and Dog mode.
Steamworks support will allow for players to build and share their own levels, and will be supported with 100 achievements.
Oh, and there will be heavy metal. "F**kin' hey!"
I feel bad because I've never before heard of this. But I feel good because it looks awesome.
Mite b cool
I'll wait to see more, hopefully they get a new voice actor.
looks generic as hell
had rise of the triad on a disk somewhere, only remember those weird as fuck traps in it.
I am so sick of fast-paced shooters.
Oh, this is going to be great.
I played the shit out of this game, along with DOOM, Quake and Blood, when i was a kid.
Duke Nukem with nazis? Sounds good.
Is it just me or does it seem like the game is running poorly in the video?

I remember finding this game on our family's old Spark server a long time ago.
I didn't know what the hell was going on.
So then I played some DOOM, and I generally sucked.
Then I played some Descent, and I still sucked.
One Must Fall though? DUde I'll kick your ass.
RotT was the first FPS I ever played. Fucking sick game. Not sure about this though.
I'm more a Wolfenstein 3D fan myself.
It'll probably fail miserably like Syndicate.
Everyone know Chex Quest is where it's at guys. Cmon now.
ROTT was extremely cool. This remake doesn't seem any good for now.

OH MAN I remember playing this as a kid and I had no idea what the fuck it was, I lost it or something and couldn't remember it for the life of me, I always remembered it faintly. I had no idea what I was doing

At least it adheres somewhat to the original game's formula unlike Syndicate.
I'm not sure what to think. On one hand, Rise of the Triad was an awesome classic, albeit with questionable level design (all those motherfucking monks) and its own set of flaws. But while I love the 'Goin' Down The Fastway' remix in the trailer and all the little nods and references, it just looks kinda.. Bland/bad. Guess it's one of those on-the-fence kind of things for now.
the original RotT was a uh, interesting game
i don't know if i could call it a good game considering even now i don't quite understand it
Another FPS? Meh. Theres so much space in the other genres but FPS'es get made in the thousands because they sell. :suicide:
AW YEAH RISE OF THE FUCKING TRIAD
cant wait because rise of the triad was one of the games that made my childhood great and im excited for a revival
Oh you are going to get so many boxes for that, which is sad.
I'd love some variety rather than every AAA game being some vulgar duty calls clone.
I thought that post was sarcasm
Quality journalism.
Oh god he made a spelling mistake call the fucking police.
Also, WW2 Duke Nukem? Yes PLEASE!
Looks a bit half-assed, IMO.
I'm not that big of a FPS person, but I'm impressed how faithfully it looks like they captured the gameplay of FPS' from that era.

Quake, Blood, RotT, Descent, One Must Fall, Cannon Fodder... you guys are making me nostalgia fucking hard. So I'm going to be a dick and return the favour: X-Wing and Tie Fighter. Enjoy that burning feeling knowing those two gems desperately need remakes :)
Mmm, been craving some Monk Meal and Priest Porridge.
