I'm running out of space on my current Hard drive, and i'd like to upgrade to the next model up. I opened my laptop and found one of these: WD Scorpio Black WD3200BEKT And i'd like to upgrade to this: WD Scorpio Black WD5000BEKT Like most laptops it never came with any install cd's, so all I need to do is make a recovery cd from windows 7, pop in the new hdd and I should be able to install win 7 and use this new hdd, correct? Edit: Also this has some hybrid graphics setup, an intel chip for low power usage and a 5000 series ATI chip for gaming, this wouldn't explode or anything while re-installing drivers would it?
I need to purchase a hard drive this evening, please? Anyone?
Its exactly like installing a regular desktop drive. It will be fine.

Windows 7 recovery disc will not reinstall windows for you
How would i get my hands on a disk if one didn't come with my laptop?

Yes I have a key sticker on the bottom of my laptop, I got the thing last June, haven't used it anywhere. Do I go to Microsoft's website for an iso or what?
As long as the internal hardware did not change (I believe) you can copy data from your current HDD to another one. You'll need an USB sata module tough. If all else fails, get an USB 3.0 external HDD (Lacie makes small ones and they're astonishing)
My specs would be the exact same besides the hard drive, I got the exact same series hard drive, everything is identical but the hdd has 2x the space. I got one of these a few days ago because I had a gift card for target: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148404 EDIT: I found this page, pretty high ranking in google: http://techpp.com/2009/11/11/download-windows-7-iso-official-direct-download-links/ So I figure this would be legitimate right? I have x64 7 home premium, I would just burn that an use my key? Also the link says something about versions, it would just update when its activated right?
It worked great, thanks everyone.
