Horray, been waiting for the UI design to go into an actual product for ages.
:o ohhhhh i need this
[editline]07:03PM[/editline]
very sleek!

Weird, i don't have the firefox button in mine.
FYI I had the old Strata plugin and if you do as well make sure you enable the default firefox theme after upgrading.
Fancy.
So besides a new look and minor technical/speed improvements, why should I upgrade? Or is it just a number and will autoupgrade?

Here's a good reason not to:

I like it. Still not sure about the tab thing though. I don't like them on top of the address bar for some odd reason.
I don't see

bit when I use it :(
Also Firebug and Greasemonkey don't work so that's a pain
Adblock+ works, and that's good enough for me.
It's so much faster than 3.6.x
Give it some time, the extensions will be updated most likely.

Because its Firefox, you can customise everything. There's an option built in to put them back to where they were.

I've had my tabs on top for a while:

Can not wait.
"Default 4.0b1 theme is incompatible with Firefox 4.0b1".
Heh.
I've been using it for a while now. it's obviously not as stable as the regular releases, but shit's pretty nice otherwise.

How is this compared to the latest Chrome, speed wise?
ahahhah oh man it looks exactly like chrome
is it as fast as chrome yet
:colbert:
Oh wow, they got rid of the menu bar too. Anyone got a decent pre-Firefox 4 theme?
You can enable the menu bar you know.

I just did that Mr. Potato Gun IE9 test and firefox scored higher than chrome on my netbook (5.7s to 8.0s) but the sunspider tests take too long to bother with here, I'd imagine firefox is slower though, I haven't heard any news to suggest that they've suddenly sped up by huge amounts.
Opera has the fastest Javascript engine at the moment.
I'll make the switch once most of my plugins get ported I figure

I'll stick with Chrome.
It looks almost exactly like Chrome anyway. FireFox, hurry up and catch up and then do something innovative already.

But Chrome copied Opera. Duhhh :downs:
Been using this for about 7 days, it was released on the 29th of June, if you didn't catch it.

Well, it seems FF is finally catching up again. But its still not enough to persuade me back to it from Chrome. One thing that really is stopping me is Chrome's tabs are at the very top by default. With FF theres still some unused wasted space and that extra space just totally ruins my browser experience. I know its a relatively small thing, but it really bugs me. 4.0 seems to have changed that a bit but tabs at the very top just makes so much sense to me.

hurr durr I forgot to edit my post above.
Opera is still the sleekest browser, it uses so little space to display all its shit (tabs being on the same bar the Opera toolmenu thing and minimize/window/exit buttons are) while at least the old Firefox took up half the monitor with useless shit.
