How does one do this?
Must learn. Tell me.

Guide me, what is this so called Guitar Pro, is it free?
And how does it work?
You sure it can convert guitar tabulatures into mandolin tabulatures?
It is not free. You'd have to buy it or download it illegally.
You can change the number of strings on a track from 6 to four and tune them to the desired note.

I'll download the trial. Could I add you on Steam incase I don't understand something?
Learn how to read tabs. Look at tabs. Note the corresponding notes and apply them to your mandolin. It won't get easier than that.

Be very careful when discussing piracy.
one toe over the line and you get a 7 day ban
The way that makes most sense to me is to transcribe the guitar tab to standard notation music and then simply playing that on mandolin, or transcribing that to mandolin tab.
Hey! i'm creating a little web page to convert guitar tabs to mandolin tabs. The site is under development, so some tabs won't work fine.
If there's some trouble, just let me know by private message or email, so i can fix the problems, and get a better tool for us =)
The temporary url is: http://mandolintabs.mandolintabs.cloudbees.net/
Just paste the guitar tab, set the offset if it's needed (maybe you have to set it to -12, because the translation will be a little bit high....) and press the SUBMIT button!
I hope it help you =)

if you're asking how to convert a guitar song to be played on mandolin that's a question of arrangement and is a skill you have to work out yourself

this is probably the most sensible way tbh.
