As seeing I already built mine and I found it quite easy, one of my friends asked me to build for him. He'll pay for parts + shipping as long it's under 1.3k Antec 900 Sapphire 4870 1GB on Crossfire G.Skills 6GB DDR3 Western Cavier Black 1TB Corsair 750 PSU P6T SE i7 920 Some random 20 bucks disk drive $1,230.92 Before shipping. 3 Questions: 1) Is all well? Everything compatible? Not gonna overheat? Any better cheap stuff that'll work equally well? 2) My friend wants Crysis as a benchmark. Even though I told him that even a GTX 280 would have trouble running it max. How would this rig run Crysis? 3) Can it run ArmA 2? I wanna co-op with him.
Some links would be nice. Also, add about $100 to the final pricetag and pocket it (For your troubles :ninja:)
so um when are you ordering this you can get alot better than that for 1.3 k

https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/publicWishDetail.aspx?wishlistnumber=10929592 Gigabyte mobo, PII 955, SLI 275s, 4GB DDR2 1066, 620W Corsair modular PSU, 500GB WD HD, LG DVD burner, HAF 932, $1,245 before TS&R
why are you not a mod Prismatex. thanks.
Because I get banned too much. :v:
Because I get banned too much. :v:
How many alts do you have? 4?
Maybe the reason you haven't been permabanned is because no one can be arsed to ban all your alts too v:v:v
If he does only have four alts, that's not very many. I have six, and I know a guy with 23 alts.
IIRC prisma has about 5 Alts, one of them unused.
5 accounts total, one perma'd, one I used for the 1st time yesterday. On-topic: OP, keep your eye out for some nice combo deals to save a few bucks. They only last a few days, so if you see a good one, be quick.
why are you not a mod Prismatex. thanks.
Simply posting builds for someone != mod material :v: [editline]01:56PM[/editline] That isn't meant to be a shot at you though, Pris.

How do the 4850X2s scale in Crossfire?
it is a tad better than a GTX295 but 2 GTX 275 are also on par with a GTX 295 but with the combo the 790GX is used so you have to use an ati card and the 4850X2 is pretty sweet
I know that 2 275s are stronger than a single 295, but the only 4850 X2 Crossfire evaluation (http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/1646/sapphire_radeon_hd_4850_x2_in_crossfirex/index.html) that I found didn't show huge gains.
I bet they used a 32bit OS
Operating System: Windows XP Professional SP2, Windows Vista SP1
Mhmm
Memory: 2 X 1GB Kingston XP and 2gb of ram I really think they used a 32bit os
Sorry, for necroing this thread, but I just got everything from Prismatex's build cept the Mobo + RAM. Is 4GB DDR2 enough? Isn't at least 4GB DDR3 superior?
Get this motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131383 And this RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231166
you could ahve saved 70bucks with comboing the cpu and that mobo :(
you could ahve saved 70bucks with comboing the cpu and that mobo :(
Ain't my cash I'm burning \:v:/ @ Prismatex : How effective is that Mobo + RAM?
They're both very good. [editline]11:37PM[/editline] Oh, and about the scaling of 4 4850s: http://www.anandtech.com/showdoc.aspx?i=3520
