(CNN)Four-year-old Norah Wood of Augusta, Georgia, went with her mother to the grocery store to buy some birthday cupcakes. She ended up changing a life.
It started late last month with some simple kind words she shouted to a lonely older man in the aisle. He was taciturn and "stone-faced" Norah's mother, Tara Wood, told CNN on Thursday.
"Hi, old person!" Norah yelled from her cart. "It's my birfday today!"
"That day, I was going through a day of self-pity. I was just feeling sorry for myself," he told CNN. "But she changed it."
Aww.
Why is this news? It's heartwarming and we can't have that in the news.
If a kid told me it was their birthday i'd just get madder because they're showing off
Just report and move on.
Why? we have enough threads on SH on why hillary/trump is evil, how some stupid law got passed, or some terrorist attack. Nothing wrong in lighter things
Just report and move on.
The guy in question was obviously kidding
Also my apologies about posting something positive
I think we all need news like this at times. Can't only have dread and gloom.
Is this sub called cozy heartwarming local news, or sensationalist headlines?
its just that its a waste of space in the wrong sub of the forum
Oh shit, we must have forgot you were a moderator.
everyone who takes the "Sensationalist headlines" section title for serious is pretty dim lol
you don't have to have bombastic wild news dudes you can have some small shit too
Does it look like I think I'm a mod?
Ain't that what the "In the News" section of the forum is for?
"ITN" is exclusively ran by news bots so
I will leave this here:

What's heartwarming about this to me is that not only did the child embrace Mr. Dan, so did the child's family. That level of trust and kindness is an extreme rarity these days. Mr. Dan now has something to live for again, and that's pretty damn beautiful.
