Keyboard Failure in BIOS (Trying to reinstall windows)
8 replies, posted
I am trying to reinstall windows and i put the disc in the tray and my computer is set to boot from the dvd, so when i start my computer it goes through the diagnostics and then it tries to boot from the dvd. "Push any key to boot from dvd." I have pushed a key, i have pushed 2 keys, i have raged on my keyboard and button smashed and NOTHING happens. It doesnt respond. I thought it was my usb drivers for my keyboard or something so i went out and got a USB to 6 pin serial convertor, plugged my keyboard into the 6 pin serial and it still wont respond, This is also the same keyboard i am typing this one...How can i fix this?
can you even go into BIOS with the keyboard to enable something like USB keyboard support, i had to do that to be able to use my keyboard outside windows and BIOS.

PS/2 is the way to go. I had to buy one in order to reformat computers for my business.

I love these because of the classic clitter clatter sound it makes when you type. Right now mine just sounds like thubbathubbathubba.
already tried the PS2, thats what the six pin serials is
Well you said you used adapter, those don't always work outside BIOS and Windows.
Use an adapter if handy to the serial from PS/2.
