I don't know, I was just browsing TF2 videos on youtube and noticed the 1080p function, said "Heck yeah, why not" and now it loads faster than a video would on 380p. No loss of visual quality either.
Is this happening for anyone else?
I can't use the 1080p, when i do, it starts to load and when it finally starts playing it's all choppy.
Yeah I can download my 1080p porn like no other.
It's faster than before.
no matter what i watch my videos in it always lags, like when i press escape to get out of fullscreen it will take 10 secs or if i press stop
I don't know, 1080P doesn't seem to work for it, it always looks like utter shit when I full screen my 1080p youtube video.
I can't watch 1080p. I would just shoot through my entire monthly quota.

change to internode
I guess it is for me, pretty good actually. Just grabbed a few 1080p movie trailers and played them on two screens at the same time. Smooth playback and both buffered pretty quick.
For the people experiencing lag with formats higher than 480p: It's your graphics card. :colbert:

I think it's cheap I can't remember the price
I never watch 1080p but I might try it if its faster.

So? get a better plan, stop giving Australia a bed net rep.
It's not bad anymore, I got unlimited ADSL2+ for $79. Last month I managed 945gb :D

this only started happening a week ago, nothing in my PC has changed at all
The loading times aren't a problem for me, it just lags really badly sometimes.
Upgrade yer computer.
And no it's not your video card, it's your processor. You need a decent processor. Flash doesn't use the GPU.. or does it?
I can upgrade soon. I have like 4 more months in this 24 month contract.
My Dad signed us up with Optus. I can't wait to leave the assholes.
I noticed this too...
Did google announce any updates for their high res formats?
They use a custom google format. That is why peoples computers find it hard to decode, as it is at software not hardware level
Just checked and yeah it's remarkably faster!

You don't have unlimited traffic in Australia?!

Could be a sign that your CPU isn't good enough, are you on a netbook or something?
1080p lags too much for me so I use 720p
I just got new internets
so yeah 1080 loads fine.

I feel your pain, bro. How much bandwidth you got?
You don't have unlimited traffic in Australia?!
Hahaha. What a joke.
It's only just started to roll in, but only one ISP provides it atm, and it is expensive.
Btw, I'm on 20 gig a month.

Seriously? I pay 35€ per month and get a 32mbit connection + unlimited traffic...
derp derp derp 1080p y0 its hd init
Works pretty well for me, I'm guessing it makes use of video card acceleration.

Also, you have to consider that the 380p version might load slower because of server or connection issues while the 1080p file might be more readily available.

It's your CPU, my AMD X1 (Singlecore) 3500+ struggled with 720p and above my computer would lag.
now I'm on the AMD X2 (Dualcore) 5500+ and even 1080p does not lag me.
if youtube load slow i just jump between quality sometimes 1080p i faster, sometimes 480p ect ect.
