Recently, I've found out that the CPU usage of my PC is 100% and the cause is this file called dgen.exe.
When I googled it, it is said that it could be a malware or a Trojan horse. Therefore is there anyone that can enlighten me about this?
Do I need to delete it or something?
Thanks.
If you think it's a virus or piece of malware, run a virus scan with a good antivirus (kaspersky, Avast!, Avira) and run Malwarebytes.
Well I did ran Malwarebytes, it's the first thing that was recommended to me.
There are 14 potential non-threats that were found, I could quarantine them or let them go. I do not want to accidentaly quarantine the files that are needed for the PC to operate, but at the same time, I do not want a piece of potential malware or Trojan to be running in my PC.
What should I do?
Eh, check through the files, it should be ok to quarantine remove them. What you could also do, is remove/quarantine files, then run sfc /scannow afterwards, which will put back any important Windows files if they get removed
Well guys, I guess it is a Trojan after all. My antivirus has detected a Trojan.Gen 2 on my computer and has managed to remove it.
I'll continue to see if dgen.exe still reach 100% of CPU usage.
