CocoRosie is a musical group formed in 2003 by sisters Bianca "Coco" and Sierra "Rosie" Casady. The sisters were born and raised in the United States, but formed the band in Paris after meeting for the first time in years. Their music has been called "freak folk", and incorporates elements of pop, blues, opera, electronica, and hip hop.
My Opinion
Cocorosie is a very unique band. I honestly cannot put them into one specific genre, their sound is just so vast. I have been constantly listening to this band for the past few months now and have yet to get tired of their music.
I would highly recommend this music to somebody who enjoys to explore new sounding music. They incorporate a lot of piano, harp, sound machines, opera vocals, and hip hop beats. Now I know that all that sounds like it would fit terribly together, but these girls pull it off excellently!
If I had to describe the mood of their music I would describe it as such. Very dark, ambient sounding. At times theres a dash of joy and happiness in their songs, but it is usually taken over by a gloomy ending or background sound.

Their third album. My favorite album. This entire album was record on a farm, only during the night. This was done so that they could include the various sounds of the animals in the songs. You can hear the animals, and it adds a beautiful touch to the music.
