Adam West was joined by guest speakers Seth McFarlane, who produces the Fox animated series "Family Guy," for which West is the voice actor for Mayor Adam West, and radio personality and fellow "Family Guy" voice actor Ralph Garman. Hollywood Chamber of Commerce President Leron Gubler hosted the event with a special appearance by The Batmobile. “We are thrilled to honor Adam with this prestigious award. Fans have been waiting for this special day for many years," Gubler said in a news release from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. "Adam West fired up the billion dollar Batman franchise: the golden years and the classic Batman, the Bright Knight. He deserves his place of honor on our famed Walk of Fame.” West, who was born William West Anderson on Sept. 19, 1928 and raised in Walla Walla, Wash., began his career over 50 years ago as a disc jockey and television show host. In 1959, he moved to Hollywood after landing a contract with Warner Brothers. That same year he made his feature film debut opposite Paul Newman in "The Young Philadelphians." His TV roles that followed included appearances on "Maverick," "Bonanza," "The Outer Limits,"'Gunsmoke" and a co-starring role for a season on "The Detectives." Then in 1965, producer William Dozier handpicked West to play the role of Batman for the ABC TV series. This campy role would breathe life to the famous character from a comic book series and become part of a pop-culture phenomenon in the 1960s. West holds the Guinness World Record with 156 individual screen appearances as Batman -- the most appearances by any actor as the famous crime fighting superhero. He is currently voicing 'Mayor Adam West' on the hit animated series, "Family Guy" - playing a looney, parody of himself. "Family Guy" creator Seth McFarlane said he was impressed with West's longevity. "It is my hope, that at age 110, I will see you at "Family Guy" conventions signing autographs for a whole new generation of loners and psychopaths."
http://www.nbclosangeles.com/the-scene/events/Hollywoods-First-Batman-Gets-Honored-with-Hollywood-Star-146310785.html

Cat man's justice has finally paid off
well he is very rich so
His surgeons do good work.
About damn time. This man is amazing.
It would be cool if they made a special Bat-star for him, when you first look at it you see "Adam West" but then it says "Ka-poww!"
Good work Adam West! :D
That is not a very good photo of him.
Hmm going to try to get something autographed by him at a convention later this month any suggestions?
That is not a very good photo of him.
I don't know, he doesn't look like the walking corpse he's sometimes looked like before.

Seriously, don't bother with getting his autograph. He never charges less than $50 per item, and if you ask him not to personalize it (as in cases where an inscription would take up too much room, or obscure another actor's face in the picture), he'll loudly accuse you of wanting to sell it on Ebay, and refuse to see you. There have been other accounts of him misspelling someone's name, and, when corrected, getting annoyed and demanding an additional $50 for a corrected inscription. As far as his star goes. . .meh. From what I understand, an actor can pay a large fee and just get one, as in the case of Walter Koenig (who totally deserves his star).
Adam West is a true hero.
yeah cool buyer beware and stuff
I'd say less "Caveat Emptor" and more "don't be a dick to the people who keep you relevant."
About bloody time if you ask me, he deserves it.
The first time I saw him ever was on Johnny Bravo, followed by Fairly Odd Parents and then Family Guy. Every appearance he played himself, and I'm aware of his live action roles. I'm surprised he hasn't had a star yet.

Why should he help you make money off his autograph? He's the goddamn Batman, if anyone should make money off his autograph it's him and him alone!
