In other news: 50% of kids own a mobile phone.
My phone can barley make a phone call let alone use the internet.
I am on mobile for 3 months now because the damn ISP can't lay the goddamn cables in my new home. Haven't been playing online decently for that time. I know it's a luxury but I still miss it.
Wow 20% would have been my highest guess
Cool, and most of them were Android phones :v:
Wow 20% would have been my highest guess
your
Shows how shitty ISP's are. Oh and casual computing is sky rocketing.
The people that said that they don't need the internet are probably old people.
I got a 4G Sensation in July. I love it. My speeds are similar to my cable internet if I need to tether.
shame mobile internet is a massive fucking ripoff
Yeah, it's a shame how corporations are raking in billions of dollars a year and bandwidth requirements are increasing, yet AT&T has me limited to two fucking gigabytes a month. Fuck-off AT&T. You had 76billion dollars lying around to just buy up T-Mobile, how about actually using some of it to, I don't know, upgrade your fucking network.
the cost of maintaining these networks is falling anyway, there's no reason why the price isn't cheaper apart from them wanting to rake in as much cash as possible
Well when I can go onto my mobile and download a 300mb file quicker on my 3G than my internet then you know where the problem is.
How much do you guys pay for Data? I'm on Tmobile with a 5GB full speed, and then after that it's throttled. and pay $30 per month
throttles/caps are useless and the companies are just greedy. Its as if they are owned by the oil companies
here in canada we get like a gig and that's it
The discrepency between countries and internet is fucking disgusting. I'm on a "fair use" policy here (phone call after a few hundred gigs saying "cut it out") and generally average 1.3mpbs. Then, zoom to the States or Canada and it's basically nothing for the same price. Then go to mainland Europe, where some places get amazing connections, uncapped for the same price. There needs to be some fucking standards placed by governments regulating how much can be charged for what is (and yes, it is these days) a necessity for households. Also, wouldn't data caps cost a company loads to enforce?
Well, on 3 I'm getting 1GB per month, with 3000 texts and 2 hours of voice calls for £10 a month, which I really think is decent. I have trouble going through 400MB per month.

I was taking a rant at home broadband and the like, where being capped is just rediculous.
Here we get 3mbit/s 3G internet with no bandwidth limit, some months ago I downloaded about 50GB/month when I didn't have a normal internet connection. I got it with my phone and it's about 40€/month including the phone.
