I need to know whether a "homemade" cable would work, when connected to a TV

Sorry i didn't explain it well in the title, i really don't know how.
My parents won't let me get terrestrial TV in my room, so I'm doing it myself.
Problem is, the cable I'm using isn't long enough, so I'm maiing it longer, my soldering a phone charger cable to it.
It's a basic cable with an outer copper surface (coated in rubber) with an internal copper wire going through the centre.
It's hard to explain, sorry.
My questions are; will it work? Will it damage the four way splitter, connected to my antenna? & do i need to use a special conductor?
I live in Britain, if it helps or affects anything.
I'll answer any questions that can make it easier to understand.
Thankyou in advance.
firstly, make sure you unplug all the televisions in your house from the ariel when you fiddle with it or risk blowing them out.
if you want to do this, do it PROPERLY. go and buy some coaxial cable and the appropriate connectors.
k little 12 year old, wait a bit longer and then you'll get tv

Feck off. I'm not 12.
Edit: So is there no way i could get around this?
The name you're looking for is coaxial.
It should work, though there may be interference.

Hey if he wants to try and do it himself let him, it's not our responsibility if he fucks up and kills himself or breaks something expensive.
I wouldn't bother with that. Also, I'm not really sure what you are talking about due to the poor wording. You're best bet is to just buy an extender for the cable rather than soldering a phone charger cable.
Sorry about earlier.
http://www.tvcatchup.com is good for streaming over the internet, it has all the channels and is almost the same quality.
Dude, how do you mean you cant get terrestrial TV?
Just go to pound land and buy a cheap Indoor Airel and stop being a pussy. if you dont have a TV then you're fucked.
While you're at it, spend all of £10 and get a cheap set-top digi box and then you will get better quality. Indoor airels work unless you're too close to the TV mast, like I am (gotta get a special signal weakener).

If you can't say fuck and be a man about it I don't really think you should have a TV in your room. But that's my opinion.

Most cables are piss cheap, same with connectors. I agree with this man, don't fuck around with cables. You'll only get burn't

Feck Isn't always a substitute for fuck, some people just use it regularly.

Maybe he's Irish?
The best way to fix it is to take a toaster that is plugged in, run a hot bath, and then drop the toaster in.
This will give you cable tv in your room.
Good luck.
Cutting up your phone charger and haphazardly soldering it onto a piece of coax?
stellar idea. How about instead of this, you repackage your soldering iron and send it back on the grounds that you're too stupid to own it.
I saw forget all that and go buy more cable and one of these handy dodads:

It overloads the network card.
It fries the network card.
