I was a collossal dumbass and accidentally snapped my acoustic guitar's torsion bar.

The neck of the guitar was kinda bowed, so I got out the allen wrench and string winder to adjust the truss rod. I loosened all of the strings severely, and set to work with the truss rod. No matter how far I adjusted the rod, it just would not become unbowed. So, I give it one more good twist, and I hear a sickening, loud, SNAP. The neck did not break, thank goodness, but now I am not sure if I can tighten my strings anymore. Well, it was a crappy epiphone anyways, I guess I will play my newer, better Ovation Balladeer 12 string a lot more.

Oh crap, thread title mistake, I was thinking about tank suspension at the time and did not notice.

Not much to take a picture of, it looks pretty normal, except a little more bowed.
The sound of a 12 string is nice and shimmery, plus you can always get rid of the other strings and leave the standard ones on.
Don't expect the guitar neck to be fixed right away when you tighten/loosen the truss rod. You may not have snapped the truss rod, but you probably fucked the guitar one way or the other.
The bolt to adjust the truss rod is super loose now, that is why I think I snapped it.
But as I said before, if your neck is bowed, only turn the truss rod in quarter turns and wait to see how it reacts. It doesn't take that much to fix it.
