• Got any scratches on your car? This is how to remove them.

I have been watching this veteran detailer on YouTube for a little bit now and this guy has a personality. He shows how to remove fine/deep scratches on cars by hand/machine using a very simple method, wet sanding/polishing. As scary as taking sandpaper to your car sounds, I am going to try this on my next day off and if all goes well, start a mobile detailing service for cheap. Now some of his videos are a little sad too, seems his wife left him or something of that nature, but he is really educational and judging by the videos, the quality of his work is amazing, plenty of information. Highly advise giving this guy a comment thanking him, seems he has a hard life amongst things and a little thanks can go a long way.
Oh god when he mentioned his ex-wife I felt so bad. These are some pretty good tips. I just found a deep scratch on my car so i'll probably try this out.
thats fucking sweet.

I would do this stuff to my car if I had the supplies. Right now I don't even know where to find it.
"i love you, dont worry im gonna pay the bills" holy crap i feel awful right now im gonna take a picture of a scratch on my car and ask you guys if it can be repaired since its kinda hard to describe
He apparently was in Special forces as well...
Ohh god I started to cry at the end... Any way I might attempt this on my truck and see if it acculy works. Yeaa for trucks that you don't care too mutch about!
Nice tips. I have so many scratches on my car, but most of the big ones are on the rear bumper which is plastic so i'm guessing this strategy wouldn't work for that.
There's a scratch on my car, it's not very deep, it's very fine but also quite long. I think someones bag or coat must have dragged across it.
I tried this and let me say it works wonders, but be careful to avoid the edges on the backing plate of the polisher, ended up fucking up some clear coat on a small area and now I gotta repaint it. But the rest of the car looks fantastic
Generally, if you can feel a scratch with your fingernail then it ain't gonna polish out so don't even try. if it's just the lacquer that's scratched then fill it in with lacquer, then sand with 2000grit ON A BLOCK (IMPORTANT) until flat. If the paints gone too then you'll have to put paint in obviously.

Not recommended and better use the rotary right when getting it out but it works if you know what the look for.
He just posted a new video

What you have to do in that case if find a bottle of scratch remover / touch up paint, and apply it per the instructions. And JESUS AT THE BUMP [editline]12th January 2014[/editline] Ohhh god look. Previous DP up near the OP. Look at him as he owned a truck at the time. I'm going to do alot of touching up and scratch repair when I have time in the summer. I know i have some spots where paint has been chipped by rocks and its gone to the metal. (
Oh wow I remember these videos. Christ according to some of the comments he killed himself last year over the wife issue. That just ruined my day.
I saw this video on the channel. It seems like more than one person do videos on it, but I think this is the proof that he really may of killed himself. Alot of people enjoyed the videos he made, and it's really sad when someone with such skill and professionalism, who is also open to sharing the secrets to his methods, succumbs to anything, especially suicide.
What the fuck this thread man..... I expected to come here to learn about removing scratches..... :suicide:

He definitely died, but he also apparently had medical problems stemming from his time in the armed forces. I can't figure out if he did in fact commit suicide or if it was a medical complication, as (considering nearly every video of his showed at least a minute of him pleading to his estranged wife) either of these are possible.
Wet Sanding
You guys just figured this out?:eng101: Anyways, I feel sorry for him.
You guys just figured this out?
...he says in a 3 year old thread.
