Sacramento native Stephen Cebula, 28, was arrested on July 12 on a charge of making threats to injure employees and remains in custody, according to acting United States Attorney Phillip A. Talbert. Cebula faces up to five years of jail time and a $250,000 fine.
The investigation kicked off on July 3, when Heroes of the Storm players contacted Blizzard about disturbing messages they had received through the game's chat feature from another player, according to court documents retrieved by Polygon. The messages — which are of a graphic nature — included "I will bomb the new york twin towers [sic]," "Go back to cotton picking" and "You make me want to shoot up an elementary school;" Cebula also threatened to rape and kill the children of his opponents.
Blizzard responded by stripping Cebula's chat privileges, court documents state. Cebula then took to Facebook, sending the company two separate messages that are included in the case files. His posts warned Blizzard to be careful, writing that if the company "keep silencing me in Heroes of the Storm and I may or may not pay you a visit with an AK47 amongst some other 'fun' tools."
One of his FB posts from a month and a half ago...The irony is strong.
He also admitted to having "fantasized about oral sex and sexual intercourse with his five-year-old niece."
This guy has serious issues
What an idiot.
These kinds of salty responses are what you expect from an edgy 12 years old, not some guy in his late 20s.

Maybe he has a brain of a 12 year old.
I'm glad people like this get punished, seems like death threats for game developers and just famous people on the internet in general are common things that they deal on a daily basis.
If I cringed any harder reading that FB post my skull would've collapsed.

He probably reread what he wrote 500 times while sweating profusely before sending, so, yeah he's a moron.
why does it seem like I always get put on this guy's team
"Cebula" means "onion" in polish
This guy's had too many of his layers stripped away
How stupid can you get
Sup, you fucking nigger cunt slaves. I swear to you if I find you when I try to hack into your profiles, I will rape your children regardless of age. If we win, I will leave you all alone after I rape them. If not, their throats meet my blade. Lets win.
Well, thats one way to motivate your team
A snippet from the report (excuse the formatting):
17. A police report from March 11, 2015, Cebula called the Sacramento Sherriff's Department communications center
and reported that he planned to attack and kill someone at Carmichael Park.
When a Sherriff's deputy initially made contact with Cebula, he refused to obey commands and instead balled his fists and took
what a deputy described as an aggressive stance toward him. Once other deputies responded, Cebula surrendered to them.
He told deputies that he had intended to beat someone to death; he also said multiple times that he would have cut his sister's throat by that point, but would not kill her because she had children.
At the time of the contact, Cebula lived with his mother, sister and his sister's
two children. Cebula later stated that he had read many books about killing people, which he felt was
his duty. He claimed his intended targets were his sister, overweight people, and various others that
did not fit his specific views. Cebula was not charged with any crime during this encounter with the
Sacramento Sherriff's Department, though they did place him on a 5150 hold based on his statements to them.
Additionally, as a juvenile, Cebula was charged with one count of threatening a school employee and one
count of battery on a school employee with injury.
This guy is a ticking timebomb and should stay off the streets indefinitely.
This guy is very clearly unstable and I hope he gets some serious rehabilitation during his jail time.
Sounds genuinely mentally ill

Even if he was only talking about people with internet access he's still massively wrong.

Cebula later stated that he had read many books about killing people

wow can you be any more of an edgelord than this
"i'm so edgy and dark, i've read a lot of books about killing people so don't mess with me bullies"
I think I just cut myself into pieces when I read that
He sounds more like a guy on his last resorts then a normal fucking human being, maybe they should send the police before he suffocates someone
Even if he was only talking about people with internet access he's still massively wrong.
He couldn't be, though. He clearly states right after that, "...and most of them with internet access" referring to the 1.5 billion figure. He's just an idiot.

Some people never got out of that edgy phase like that Cebula dude.
However, this seems like he needs immediate rehab.
Just imagine being the guy in prison who was put there because of a video game
Just imagine being the guy in prison who was put there because of a video game
He was put there for writing stupid and more importantly potentially dangerous shit, HotS was just how people read about it. Video games have stopped been a weird or nerdy pasttime activity a long time ago. Especially if we're talking about a mainstreamlined MOBA made by Blizzard.
I think the real shocker here is that Heroes of the Storm has people playing it.
I don't get it.
I just don't get it how people can be that dumb.
