Turning an iPod touch in to an iPhone hardware-wise

Hello, I have been thinking about this for a while now. You see, recently I have been seeing videos of people replace their back panels on iPhones and iPod touches. Well I recently got an iPod touch from a friend, but I do have an iPhone. I have became accustomed to the feel of the iPhone. Could I just take the back off the iPod and buy an iPhone back and slap it on there?
What about your iPhone camera?
You can't
I think the fittings might be a bit ill-fitting- as you know iPhones are quite a bit thicker than iPod touches.
just use your iphone as an ipod touch
I don't think that's "hardware".
I don't think that'll work. But you don't really need an iPod touch then, what's the point of having them both
You can put 3g in an ipod touch.
The title should have been "Turning an iPod touch in to an iPhone aesthetic-wise"
Some people do it I'm sure. Back when the V3 Razr was popular people always swapped cases for other fancier cases. I know the situation is different with the iPhone, but I doubt that there aren't people who mod cases.
