Following the ruling by the judge in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Dassey, 26, will be released within 90 days, unless the state decides to retry him. Dassey and his uncle Steven Avery were convicted of murdering young woman Teresa Hallbach in 2005. Avery and Dassey, who was 16 at the time, were sentenced to life in prison. On Friday, Judge William Duffin stated in the court ruling that investigators in the 2007 trial made false promises to Dassey by assuring him "he had nothing to worry about", the Associated Press news agency reports. "These repeated false promises, when considered in conjunction with all relevant factors, most especially Dassey's age, intellectual deficits, and the absence of a supportive adult, rendered Dassey's confession involuntary under the Fifth and 14th Amendments," the judge said.
About fucking time, I hope he sues the state when he gets out for a big payload as well. Kid was innocent as fuck and those detectives lured him into a false confession.

Oh man. This case. Fun fact. The prosecutor was reprimanded for soliciting sexual favors from domestic violence victims. And that's putting it more than a little mildly. Ken Kratz is a walking piece of trash. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ken_Kratz http://abcnews.go.com/US/victim-accuses-wisconsin-da-sexting-harassment/story?id=11691351
Now if they can get Steven Avery out next.
idk about Avery, I think he's innocent but the docco does raise some interesting questions about if he actually had some involvement ofc i was in utter disbelief when the prosecution said he shot her in the garage yet if that actually did happen, her blood would be splattered everywhere
Argue all you want about Avery, but this kid was obviously innocent from the start. For one thing Avery was convicted on the narrative that he acted alone, then the same prosecutor convicted Dassey as an accomplice in the crime. Not to mention the painfully obvious coerced admission from Dassey. Glad some justice is being served in this case.

He just keeps mumbling "confessions" as questions like "then I.. I choked her? I.. beat her?". It's like, how could any human being with any amount of decency or empathy actually convict somebody like that?
Glad to see justice being done. A mentally slow kid being practically forced into a plea like that is nothing short of inhumane and despicable.
About fucking time.
getting blamed for something I didn't do is annoying enough I can't imagine what I'd do if I was blamed for murder and punished at that point, I may as well be one

im sure his mother is in discussion about suing the state since Dassey wouldn't be concerned about money, more that he wants to go home and watch tv have Avery's old lawyers commented on this recent development?

Pay him millions. This was a fuckup on a colossal scale.

They didn't have the millions to pay him if he won.
Even if he was guilty, you don't fucking sentence a special-ed kid with a low IQ to life in prison with eligibility for parole in 2048.
He can finally see Wrestlemania.
