They're on the disk? If so, good to see a shameful trend continue.

The game just screams to be milked and it's pretty obvious that there was more to to the game. Well, not really stripping the content but they probably planned to have the full Destiny experience by letting people pay the base game and tons of dlc. Which is just horrible.

Can't exactly say for myself whether the game's barebones or not, I only played the 360 version for a few days before my brother took it and the 360 with him to college, but it could very well be a situation where they spent most of their time making areas that see a lot of use and reuse, like the different exploration zones or the multiplayer maps, to the detriment of unique content. And it may also be that they just cut some stuff to have as a timed event later or something, like the Queen's whatever thing that's going on.

It's just extremely annoying to see that there are areas on the map that are there for no purpose. They have names and paths to enter them which are just cut off. The overworld map makes it very apparent that there was much more planned to this game. Areas like the reef are just setups for future content. I don't mind having extra content after release or paying for new stuff, but I dislike it when developers make it so that you need to buy every dlc/expansion in order to have a somewhat complete game. As you said though, the maps are amazing. I think they did a great job with them, but they could have been used in smarter ways though.
buy the dlc so you can have a not flaccid ending
This still doesn't mean that it is gonna be a boner ending, let alone a jizzworthy ending
