Pretty much... It's sort of like Morrowind. You have an odd Gameplay but incredibly interesting story. I personally don't mind the gameplay at all as I'm used to old-school weird RPG games. Oh and this game probably has the worst sneaking animation in history of sneak animations.
i honestly love alpha protocol
I beat this game four times and always kept an eye out for news of a sequel until I learned it wasn't so well regarded.
I still have only barely skimmed it, and a large part of that is due to either the minigames fucking me up a lot or the fact that trying to play with a keyboard and mouse is an exercise in torture.
I remember picking the game up in a bargain bin at my local Game back in early 2011, I never touched the game though. It's always been my "Yeah, I'm gonna get around to playing that game soon" game. Hell, I have the wrapped copy of the game sitting on my desk right now.
while flawed, its one of the best RPG's out there. choices with actual consequences, well-written and very atmospheric. it just needed better gameplay and if it was a few hours longer. and a sequel but we all know people would rather buy Madden 2027 and Call of Duty 38: Neo-Apocalyptic Warfare 4 than games like this
I've tried to get into it on three separate occasions and I'm stopped by either awful performance or game breaking controls that made the hacking mini game impossible. It's a terrible PC port.
What I remember the most about this game is how when I tried to do missions stealthily, all the ennemies in the area would disappear every 4th save or something like that. Made some stuff pretty easy.
