Republicans emerge from the November elections holding their greatest level of power in decades. Not only will Republicans control the White House and Congress, but the GOP also will hold 33 governors' offices and have majorities in 33 state legislatures. Some of the issues Republicans are planning to pursue during the upcoming state legislative sessions.
actual list in article http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory/gop-agenda-unions-lawsuits-abortion-school-choice-44381785
The only thing on that list that can have any good to it is school choice, seeing how it had some success in Newark and allowed parents to pull their kids out of terrible schools and send them to better ones when before that they had to suck it up and couldn't do anything about it.
That whole list is so pro-business and anti-worker it's almost like a parody, i'm honestly curious how the US will be after 4 years of trump and the republicans controlling everything.

Don't weaken the unions cunts. Ending corporate income tax is pretty good. Tax wealth in a different way. Overall pretty shit.
Let's hope it will only be two years.
Presidential terms are four years, two terms is the limit for a total of eight.
Presidential terms are four years, two terms is the limit for a total of eight.
They can lose the congress in two years dems tend to do badly in midterms tho lol
Presidential terms are four years, two terms is the limit for a total of eight.
senate elections are in 2018 though
— Allow people to carry concealed guns without needing permits or going through training.
I....I...what, how does this make any sense at all?
freedom to carry guns but no freedom to associate in trade unions i'm sensing a contradiction here, perhaps even hypocrisy
snipperino
Let's hope it will only be two years.
Democrats will be on the defensive in 2018; 23 seats for Democrats will be up for reelection while the Republicans only have 8 seats.
I....I...what, how does this make any sense at all?
We Americans love our fantasies, one of which is that we'll be the badass hero that saves the day by shooting a mass shooter while not hitting innocents, not mistakenly shooting another good guy that gets out a gun, and not being shot by another good guy with a gun who sees you shooting and assumes you're the bad guy.
I....I...what, how does this make any sense at all?
As a pro-gun rights, pro-CC person, this is a fucking terrible idea. The whole point of CC permits, at least as I and many other people I know see it, is as an indication that the person holding it has undergone the proper training and can be trusted with their weapon. The only thing I can see this doing is validating the existing ridiculous stereotypes of CC holders. If they want to make it easier to get CC permits, just mandate shall-issue. That's literally the only thing they'd need to change to make a positive difference. Being denied training and a permit because "self defense is not a valid reason to want this" is unacceptable; allowing people to carry without training is just as bad.
in summery: make public private and make private opaque
freedom to carry guns but no freedom to associate in trade unions i'm sensing a contradiction here, perhaps even hypocrisy
At least we'll have the tools to fight back with in case they attempt a repeat of the union busting era. Which that does indeed seem to be what they're carefully going for:
— Enact right-to-work laws, which prohibit workplace contracts that have mandatory union fees. — Restrict the collective bargaining powers of public employee unions. — Require members of public employee unions to annually affirm their desire for dues to be deducted from paychecks. — Curtail or repeal prevailing wage laws, which set minimum pay scales on public construction projects.
Right-to-work laws are complete fucking bullshit.
freedom to carry guns but no freedom to associate in trade unions i'm sensing a contradiction here, perhaps even hypocrisy
As I've said before, it's kind of a shame that people won't use the former to demand the latter amongst other things that ought to be done to stop them from fucking people over. Funny how they talk about defending their rights, after all.
As I've said before, it's kind of a shame that people won't use the former to demand the latter amongst other things that ought to be done to stop them from fucking people over. Funny how they talk about defending their rights, after all.
The really sad thing is that there was a time when they would too. I don't think people understand that it's not just a problem for us today if unions are gradually eroded and suppressed-- it's also a gigantic slap in the face to the people that came before us who fought and actually died to help establish the union movement and worker's rights. This happened here in the United States as well as abroad. It's a dishonor to their memory to let this happen so passively, not to mention a terrible idea because of all the good which unions have done. I'm not saying there haven't been problems with them, but that's true of organizations in general, and they serve as a necessary bulwark to protect workers and their rights from this exact kind of shit that the Republicans and the elites behind them are trying to pull right now. We can't just keep doing nothing about all this.
The one things that really infuriates me is that I have many people in my union who are all about the union and the benefits it provides but still vote in hardcore conservatives that will do everything in their power to weaken it. People are just so fucking stupid.
Democrats will be on the defensive in 2018; 23 seats for Democrats will be up for reelection while the Republicans only have 8 seats.
people are going to be fucking livid in 2018 if the republicans get their bucket list done here. look, they're dead serious about privatizing medicare and kicking people off obamacare, the democrats can come back if they reorganize around the right principles
1 month in and the dems are still blaming putin and racism on their loss they have 2 years to get their shit together
They won't. They have the same mentality as an anti semitic. It always some how not their fault.

You guys need to master the art of strikes, I feel like unions are going to need some in the future.
You guys need to master the art of strikes, I feel like unions are going to need some in the future.
Unfortunately many of the people who work with me solely blame the company when their rights begin to get infringed. By the time everyone will know what's really going on it'll probably be illegal to go on strike or unionize.
— Reduce or eliminate corporate income taxes.
] What the fuck is this?
— Limit how much money plaintiffs can win in medical malpractice and personal injury cases. — Restrict where lawsuits can be filed in an attempt to prevent plaintiffs from bringing suit in jurisdictions perceived to be favorable. — Restrict who can qualify to provide expert witness testimony.
Then there's this, which could really truly go either way so we really don't know what's going to happen in that regard. That might be anti business, or it might be pro. The jurisdiction limitation is interesting but it's going to be seen how that plays out. I mean who remembers that town in Texas that Samsung built an outdoor ice rink for?
That whole list is so pro-business and anti-worker it's almost like a parody, i'm honestly curious how the US will be after 4 years of trump and the republicans controlling everything.
Prepare for a rise of liberalism. Happens every time after the opposite party has an absolute majority.

The law passed anyway because of an executive bullshit technique (even though parliament voted against it) but it wasn't for lack of trying.
