Post any homemade airsoft contraptions you made here.
I made an airsoft dummy grenade and am currently working on an airsoft claymore. It's gonna be cooool.
Didn't everybody just post their creation in the "Post your loadout/guns" or the chat thread?
I made a pen gun and a few other things.
Nothing worth posting pictures of though.
My pen gun is explosive though, so it's really kind of useless.
Timebomb made some pretty awesome mortars (and a tactical spork haha) theyre somewhere in the chat thread i think?
Im going to hold off on posting pictures till I finish my latest contraption tommarow.

That's awesome. I want one.

K, i'm gonna go hide in the bomb shelter, brb in 2 weeks.
Well most of mine aren't exactly made at home, but they sure were designed at home.

Poor Mans M203. Require you to slam the tube against a bb taped to the front of the magwell to trigger it.

One of the ugliest M4's I've ever put together.

And I think that's most of them. Probably have a few more I'm forgetting though.

Damn how'd you make that?

Quite a craftsman I see...
Damn how'd you make that?
It's actually really simple. Only thing that was a little difficult was the button, as it is actually broken. When I was putting the button on that case, that small part snapped off. As a result, the alarm stays on when it's touched ever so slightly. I'm not sure how to duplicate this effect, if I can.
I'll be buying more buttons to find out.
Other than that, it's a 9 volt battery, a ridiculously loud alarm 'buzzer' that I scavenged, and simple wires. It's mostly a prototype to see if the idea would work, and since it does, I'll be buying more permanent parts (duplicates of those parts, and I'll solder them together and such. Make it more IED-ish)
One idea I had was making a tripwire, and I even have an idea of how to do it! I know that many electronic stores will sell a certain type of switch, a plunger switch, which is exactly what I need. When the two plunger parts are connected, the current is actually interrupted, so the alarm wouldn't be on. When the plunger is pulled out, the current continues and the alarm will be set off. I figure that I get some fishing line and something to tie it to, and I have a perfect tripwire.
I need some of those plugger swiches.

I'm expecting a nuclear weapon of some sort now. I'll be hiding in that bunker too. Make room DarkSamus.
Epic post of win.
I need to get me a lot of ABS and a 3D printer. Now.

Well unless you got a spare $50,000 laying around you won't get anywhere near the accuracy of my models. There's even better printers, but they cost even more. Did see a nice one at a trade show with close results to what I used, around $4000-$5000 mark. They're getting smaller, cheaper, and more accurate each year.
Thought honestly, it's really quite expensive even for what I'm doing. It's more of a tool oriented to large business R&D labs. Personally I'm looking into a small mill and lathe for making small metal parts at home. Materials are a lot cheaper.
Maybe, eventually, the price will come down and I can maybe get one of these in my garage or something. Would be so useful in every way possible for any hobby or craft. Homemade airsoft guns ftw, I could finally get my hands on that AR2 style airsoft gun :haw:
There are some homemade 3D printers, one of the more popular ones being the Cupcake CNC. These kits are cheap, but after looking at them in person they just can't do what I need them to do. There's a big community of users who have bought these kits so it's worth while checking out if you're interested.
I predict somewhere in the next 10 years we'll be seeing more affordable and accurate 3D printers, especially if they go mainstream and are marketed to the public. With more competition comes faster advancements. I've seen several new companies making these just in the last year, so the competition is building.

"I'm sorry Teacher, I couldn't print my project because my CNC machine is out of plastic."
Hmm those Cupcake printers look pretty cool. My only concern is putting it together, I have a bad history of ordering kits and fucking it up (guitar pedals for example).
What's a 3D printer?

you can learn all about it at www.google.com !
I have a better link on 3D printers: http://tiny.cc/jjsjg

Just watch my video of the whole designing to prototyping of my M4 RIS made on a 3D printer. It's pretty self explanatory.

That pistol you made Ender, sorta reminds me of Robocop's gun :v:
It's modeled off the pistol in ODST though.
I know. The first thing that popped into my head was, Robocop's pistol?! Then I saw the little text above. I wish our school had a 3d printer

Our school has a 3D printer, but it is very expensive to use. $10/cubic inch. It's really only useful for small parts that need replaced, anything bigger and you get charged way too much
Our school has one, I'm really tight with the owner so I may be able to use it for free :banjo:

Yeah I know how that is. Luckily my teacher was given something like 20+ cartridges for the printer and hardly anyone else had any decent modeling skills to make theirs even work on it. So with me being in his class for 3 years, and making cool shit, I got to print whatever I wanted. He was interested just to see if it could even make my designs.
I think I'm in love with Ender and his awesome modelling skills :buddy:
