Number 10 has accepted Labour's attempt to force the prime minister to publish a plan for Brexit before Article 50 is triggered, the BBC has learned.
Shadow Brexit secretary Keir Starmer put forward a motion for debate on Wednesday calling for details of the strategy, with support from some on the Conservative back benches.
Now the government has tabled an amendment to win them back.
But sources are not committing Theresa May to publish any specific plans.
The motion will still be debated on Wednesday as part of the Opposition Day debate offered to rival parties to choose their subject for discussion in the House of Commons.

As someone who is apparently a part of the establishment by voting remain, I am proud of my other 'establishment' bros for chipping away at the madness that has engulfed this country.
What do you mean publish plan?
People voted to leave, why are they just stalling so hard.

In case you're unaware a massive sweeping departure from one of the worlds largest socio-economic unions isnt exactly as simple as "bye lol"

Because it's a horrible idea, it has literally zero positive results for the UK and the leave campaign was founded entirely on lies and zero actual planning. But you know, all that money for the NHS, oh what money we never said that.
The very least the UK can do now is actually make a real plan so as to not completely ruin the country and instead just ruin it quite a bit.

We are leaving
We're just ensuring it's through a nice walk in the park and not a noose made out of barbed wire.

the thing about the money going to the NHS is wrong, the quote is 'We send the EU £350 million a week, let's fund the NHS insead" not that the 350 million would purely go to the NHS, youre a fucking fool if you would ever think that

The wording of that phrase implies that the £350m /week we "were" sending (totally ignoring the gains made, gross expenses mean shit all) would be better used elsewhere.
Stop this weasel word bullshit, the leave campaign promoted a phrase that implied we could be better using "EU money" elsewhere and pushed the NHS as an example. This is basic grammar.

and unfortunately millions of fools thought that, and it was deliberately worded like that to deliberately misguide and mislead. That alone is just an example of why the referendum was a monumental shitshow.

Yeah okay but even if you weren't just being pedantic about the phrasing you would still be wrong. Because they are cutting even more funding to the NHS, So even if they didn't promise that they would be sending ~the whole sum~ to the NHS (and let's be honest, they definitely did), they still proved themselves to be liars by sending even less money than before the referendum.
At the rate this government is going I'm going to be surprised if we even still have an NHS by the time this EU shit is over and done with.
god i hope they've pulled a miracle our their asses
They better mention how the border around Northern Ireland is going to work.
That is critical to the future of my country and Northern Ireland. Outside of anything to do with economics, it is the single most important point from the view of the Irish.
It could very well change everything.

as i've said in other threads, even IF the £350million was a figure that existed in it's entirety, giving all of it to the NHS would give it a 10-15% budget boost, but the NHS is MASSIVELY under-budgeted anyway, it'd be a mere drop in the ocean to what the NHS really needs (disregarding the fact that the government wants to cut it further lol)
and if not all of it was going to the NHS then it's just an even bigger waste. running a country costs millions, billion a day. dividing that up between everything would absolutely not off-set the damage caused by leaving.

I mean if you want to be pedantic about it yeah maybe, we could also take our English/Philosophy dual major and deconstruct the sentence for poetic and philosophical interpretation. Maybe it's a statement about the futility of man cleverly given through 21st century propagandic style prose?
When you say, "we spend x on y, lets spend it on z instead" it heavily implies that x instead goes to z instead of y if you had your way. That's basic grammatical structure and unless you're going to really deconstruct and think about something like a propaganda statement to death, hint: no one does that except people who do it for their field of study and assorted weirdos, it doesn't matter if the real world meaning of the phrase was only that 10 pounds of that could go to the NHS. The real world outcome of it is that the stupid fucking Tories won their campaign of lies with promises of funding the NHS, regardless of the amount, [although heavily implying 350 million if you're not grasping at the most pedantic of straws,] and then goes on to plan to defund the NHS more.
I'm hoping for a red, white and blue brexit with chocolate sprinkles on the top, I think I'd like a toffee nut latte on the side too.
