Hey so I pretty consistently get 15-22Mbps download and like 3-5Mbps up, but when loading a YouTube video or downloading something, it only uses about 5Mbps of that speed. It's kind of nice when I'm doing other things like online gaming or something, but it's irritating when I'm trying to load a YouTube video in 1080p, and it loads waaaayyy too slowly. I was wondering if there's some way I can allocate more of my available bandwidth to YouTube or certain programs? I've tried giving Google Chrome more priority in task manager but that makes no difference.
here's about what I usually get for speeds:

speedtest measures in Mb/s
chances are is that your other speed meter is measuring in MB/s
MB = 8Mb
I know, but shouldn't 20Mbps download be plenty to load a YouTube video in 1080p quickly?
well seeing how i just loaded the tdk original res trailer off of youtube faster than i can watch it with
and i'm pulling 7.9 off of speedtest (a bad result)
the "bandwidth" isnt the problem
no, what I'm saying is that only like 4 of those 20Mbps is going towards YouTube.
you aren't going to magically shove more mb/s at youtube
gee what are your specs?
i5 2500k with Intel HD 3000 (planning on getting a video card soon)
8GB G.Skill 1600Mhz RAM
I used a program a while ago to do just this. I forgot the name, but I'm pretty sure it's this:

Try the "lite" version. Oh and don't listen to LordCrypto's last post, you can "magically shove" more Mb/s at Google Chrome or any application you wish

K thanks, I'll try this. I think LordCrypto was just confused about what exactly my question was.
