I have two 9800GTX+'s, and one of them died. I don't remember how much I payed for each of them, but I know that there are better cards I can get for the same price since some time has passed since the 9800GTX+'s were considered "new". Instead of getting another 9800GTX+ to get my previous SLI setup back, I was thinking about getting something better like a GeForce 2XX or a 4XX card. Would that be a good buy? Couldn't I just use the new 2XX/4XX card as the primary one while the remaining 9800GTX+ takes care of PhysX and other small stuff? What would be the better idea? I'm really in the dark when it comes to GPU quality and SLI-related shit, and I'm sure many people here have a million times more experience with that stuff.
Yes you can use the 9800 as a dedicated physics card but it is way way overkill for that.
Yes, it's possible to use the 9800GTX+ for physX
A GTX 460 wouldn't bottleneck a Phenom II X4 @ 3.13GHz and 4GB would it?
Neither part will bottleneck the other.
Pinky swear?

Alright then, a lot of the 4XX cards at Newegg have "(Fermi)" in the titles, what's that mean?
It's a codename for the new tech by Nvidia [editline]06:26PM[/editline] Doesn't mean anything really
Alright then, a lot of the 4XX cards at Newegg have "(Fermi)" in the titles, what's that mean?
Its the code name for the series of GPUs. 4xx was Fermi. [editline]05:38PM[/editline]
Pinky swear?
And yes I'm sure.
If you can though, get an HD5850. OC'd, it matches or beats the 5870 in performance, while remaining cooler.
