Protective of what you do online? You could be a terrorist.
Hey, are you "overly concerned about privacy" online or use anonymizers and Web portals? Do you like to check your ISP-provided email account on the road? How about talking to your cohorts in PC games? Yeah? Well, here's some bad news: according to the FBI and DoJ, there's a good chance that you're a terrorist if you do any of that in an Internet café -- and they encourage others to track your license plate, ethnicity, name and more if you exhibit any of those "potential indicators."
Slashdot pointed us towards the Public Intelligence website, which first reported on the issue. Public Intelligence hosts a copy of the cyber-terrorist flyer that the DoJ/FBI created (PDF) as part of their "Communities Against Terrorism" initiative. (We recommend hitting the flyer link and checking it out.) Checking Google Maps or paying in cash means you're probably a terrorist, too, by the way, so you might consider switching to plastic to keep The Man from breathing down your neck.
Actually, even the FBI/DOJ admits that you might not be an full-blown terrorist if you check your AOL email at a cyber café, but it encourages readers to let the authorities make that call. "Some of the activities, taken individually, could be innocent and must be examined by law enforcement professionals in a larger context to determine whether there is a basis to investigate."
Whew! At least us normal folks don't have to think for ourselves.

Stay classy FBI, stay classy.
And then everyone is terrorist
They are using the Terrorist excuse for this? Did the FBI just sold to the big companies?

Ethnicity is a distinctive factor in identifying someone. It's not a big deal.

Good job encouraging stalking, FBI :v:
This is ridiculous.
Are overly concerned about privacy, attempts to shield the screen from view of others
This is pretty much standard procedure if you're putting in passwords and shit.
Gather information about vulnerable infrastructure or obtain photos, maps or diagrams of transportation, sporting venues, or populated locations
Information about timers, electronics, or remote transmitters / receiver
Suspicious or coded writings, use of code word sheets, cryptic ledgers, etc
Sounds like a student doing research and a notepad full of technical jargon

4channer who's home connection is down.
Well shit, guess we're all terrorists. I'll be giving rides to anyone who wants to turn themselves in with me.
This is sickening.
Wow, desperate much?
To be honest looking at the flyer, it doesn't list most of the standard activities as suspicious. Instead it tends to mention suspicious actions during those activities.
Though some of do feel odd - like the use of the residential internet provider and similar.
Wow America is starting to creep me out. It's like if you don't do what the companies want you'll end up arrested or worse.
Hmm, I guess I should stop yelling "Allahu Akbar" over VOIP in Project Reality then...
The government is just becoming a shitty girlfriend, incredibly too clingy and obsessed with what you're doing because she's irrationally terrified you might be cheating on her.

Your statement may imply that you're a terrorist that want to address attention to others to avoid being recognized as a terrorist.
I have a mailbox on private domain and private server, and upload all my files on private server as well, usually use encrypted SSH tunnel to copy my files around and to talk to few people.

The government is just as bad as the terrorists. Such a shame, though. The country is beautiful.
Some people say "oh its just the internet, deal with it" but this is totally destroying peoples privacy and it would probably open the window for them to do the same with the TV and other communication medias, until USA ends up like China.
This is serious and people from USA should do something about it unless they want to get fucked by their goverment.
