Mighty Number 9 Delayed, Again. Now Aiming for Q1 2016

It's official. After rumors have been going around about the delay (And remember, it was supposed to release next month) and conveniently and not suspiciously at all after the failed Red Ash Kickstarter; Kickstater Backers were finally informed about the delay in the official forums and by email.
We have an important announcement to share with our backers.
Although we understand that everyone was looking forward to playing Mighty No. 9
as soon as possible, a release delay is going to be announced for the game at Gamescom 2015, which is
currently being held in Cologne, Germany.
This is a project that would not have existed without the support of our backers,
so we at least wanted to deliver this news to our backers before it is officially announced.
We are unable to confirm a final release date at this time, however we will be aiming for a release in Q1 2016.
Once a solid release date is set, we will announce it immediately to our backers and fans.
Of course, it is important to explain why exactly the game is being delayed.
As we have communicated in the updates to our backers, all of the core content for the game is developed and in a complete state.
However, there are still bugs and issues pertaining to the online features that are included in the game. These bugs and issues
have a direct affect on enjoyment of the game, so a decision was made to work these issues out before release...
"backers get to be disappointed first! aren't you lucky?"

"no need to worry, just a miscommunication" :v:
Gotta love it when they start lying out their own asses.
Keji Inafune YOU NEED AN INTERVENTION BAD!. Release the game already... It has to be fucking finished... "A rushed game is never good... but a delayed game is best..." yeah that is fine... BUT this is getting ridiculous... it almost if you DON'T want the game to come out...
The sheer fury that burns with the fires of a thousand suns that people have for Inafune over a game that hasn't even actually come out and proven itself to be a disappointment yet is kinda silly.
I mean, he produced an at worst mediocre game, he didn't exactly choke your puppy to death in front of you. People are taking their faith being broken really badly.
Well thats okay, its not like as if I'm hopelessly obsessed with Megaman or anything.:boxhide:
Really though, its incredible that this game is so delayed, doesn't look too impressive visually and has had features cut due to "budget" despite being one of the most successful kickstarters ever. I don't think people like Inafune are malicious, at least not at this moment. It just seems like a horrible case of mismanagement? Its really amazing to say the least, I'm not a professional game designer but honestly a side-scroller like Megaman does not seem that hard to make and shouldn't have taken 4+ million USD to design in the first place. Not even a more story heavy side-series like X, I think could justify such a huge price.
I mean almost all the theory and concept work is done, we know how to make good side-scrollers, its not a pioneering art anymore, where is all the money going in and why is it taking so long?

Megaman was a childhood piece of adoration for many and Inafune is considered the father of it all. I don't think people should be flipping out, but I think its very understandable why people are, after they put money into a project headed by a beloved creator of a renown series. MN.9 has had a very shaky development, a few upsets with the community manager that has been since fired (to my knowledge) and overall just doesn't seem to be forming properly for something with so much money sunk into it with an experienced leader. It does raise a bit of alarm and understandably so.
But Inafune is only a character designer, part time developer during Mega Man 3-4 and then became a producer for the series. He's not the director like Kojima or Igarashi, he's the guy that manages the business, marketing and budget.
I don't get why Inafune became the face of Mega Man besides the fact that pretty much everyone else is barely known at all besides the composers.

I don't know why he became it, and I don't know if he deserves it, same with a lot of people. Many people come together to make a vision come reality. But honestly? Despite being a good thing to discuss, its a whole different can of worms that really isn't directly about MN.9. I was simply mentioning why I think people are distrustful of him now and very disappointed at MN.9
This game is doing miserably in development and no one really knows why, people expected better than this.

i'd be pretty miffed if i personally invested money, not being an investor, into a product that did not reach my expectations.
But hey at least the cartoon is coming out right?

Along with the live-action movie, of course.
I'm kinda getting worried for Bloodstained. Isn't that being done by the same team?

With iga instead of inafune, ofc

I regret backing this
Can we get a picture of the e-mails and/or some corroboration? I'm not denying it but you don't have any source here.

I'm actually glad that they delayed it because they really need to polish it up judging by the recent gameplay videos of it.
Sounds like Inafune is taking a mighty number two over everyone's expectations.
Here's the whole email.

:snip: misinformed
honestly the worst part of all this is that it's stupid shit like this that discourages people from backing other kickstarter projects that could've actually succeeded in making something great.
I think it's more of a problem that they're working on two projects at the same time. Red Ash sounds like a (kind of) good idea, but I think they need to at least hold it off until Mighty No. 9 is released and all its issues are fixed up.
Red Ash is being developed by a different studio known as HYDE, Inc.

the programmers are yes, but the people actually LEADING the project are not the same. so I don't think it's anything to really worry about, yet.

Regardless, they definitely need more time working on Mighty No. 9 - it doesn't even look close to finished.
I played MN9 at Anime Expo and it seemed more or less finished.
If I had to guess, the majority of the delays and budget issues are probably because they promised to release the game on 10 different platforms.

Oh, it is? Whoops.

Guess I haven't kept up enough then. But, wow, 10 platforms?

Yeah, Kickstarter stretch goals, there's the initial PC release, then they hit the stretches for all the current gen consoles (Xbone, PS4, WiiU), handhelds (3DS, Vita), two last gen systems (XB360, PS3), plus Mac and Linux versions. It's probably taking more time than expected to port them all over and I guess they don't want to pull a Rockstar and release the ports a substantial amount of time later.
and inafuneis also working on a xbox one game as well.
maybe he should start by releasing one game before simultaneously doing other projectrs
