Do you think the ability to genetically alter human embryos is a great scientific advancement for human-kind or a slippery slope into a sci-fi-like moral grey area? I'm still undecided myself and want to hear your opinions. other questions: 1)If we could cross breed an animal with a human what new species should we create? 2)Do you believe its possible to create a super race of humans and speed up the evolutionary process by hand selecting genetics? 3) If you were dr. Frankenstien and could create the perfect human how would you make them?
1. ManBearPig! 2. Perhaps, but at this time, no. It might be, we are advancing in science so fast that this can be possible. 3. Build a body and sing like rocky picture horrow show to bring him to life.
I was just reading WIRED, on a subject that included natural tit implants... kinda related to this thread. Buy it though, I couldve just fapped to the front cover wow.
assuming there was also time travel id time travel back and fuck a snake so you wouldnt have the fingers to type this amazingly shit post
I want gills dammit so let it be done
1. Doesn't work that way, O'Donnell.
I watched the movie Splice the other day....then this thread comes up. Please do not mix animal and human genes!
I want gills dammit so let it be done
Human metabolism wouldn't be able to support gills I don't think. You'd need to be covered in them, or diffuse oxygen right from your skin, and even then you'd tire easy.
I'm pretty sure furries will like your first question.
1. I think if you cross-breed something, that cross-breed can not breed/produce sperm. Correct me if I am wrong 2. Yes 3. Gene mixing and whatnot
I think that altering human genetics is pretty wrong morally. It's not like whatever thing that will be created has any say over whether it will be this thing or not.
I think if you cross-breed something, that cross-breed can not breed/produce sperm. Correct me if I am wrong
You are correct Example would be a horse x donkey equals a mule but that mule can't reproduce
Combine a shark, bear, and human -> take over the world.
It could be used for extending life span and other really cool things
If it means the capability to cure inherited diseases, I'm all for it.
You are correct Example would be a horse x donkey equals a mule but that mule can't reproduce
Yes. Though crossing completely different animals like say a fish and a bird would never work right. Even if you DID produce anything, which you wouldn't, It would be a complete freak of creation.
the biggest problem is the rich using it to get another advantage over us
1. As stated before, hybrids won't be able to reproduce sexually. 2. I don't think it would necessarily be "speeding up evolution". Evolution is always constant. 3. Situational humans could get body enhancements to better perform their jobs.
the biggest problem is the rich using it to get another advantage over us
That is silly. I have metal hip at the age of 18. I'd pay anything to have a real hip. Regrowing my hip is not an unachievable thing. The benefits of human genetic engineering are amazing. We could cure anything.

give everyone wings, BAM solved global warming no need for cars
Slippery slope yo dawg.
You are correct Example would be a horse x donkey equals a mule but that mule can't reproduce
Somethings can reproduce.
Somethings can reproduce.
Name one(?)
Name one(?)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cattalo That took me about 10 seconds.

Not the Twilight kind, but the Wolfman kind. 2) Someday. 3) Like a woman, but without the unwarranted bitchiness, and from the body parts of many corpses. I believe science and the pursuit of knowledge should know no bounds.
You can't simply add animal DNA to a person, you would have to go in and individually alter certain genes and strands of DNA to mimic an animal lets say. The only problem is you need mountains of knowledge on both creatures to determine which specific genome effects what on that creature, then find a way to safely alter it without some how creating dead space.

I surely didn't have a say in my asthma, and necrotic hips. Genetic engineering is not a movie. Sure, you could do some horrible things with it. But we could seriously benefit our entire species with it. We could cure ANYTHING with enough research. I don't think the possibility that some rouge doctor will abuse this magnificent technology is an argument for it's legality.
