The game was pretty choppy when I was running it. I was sitting there in an empty server trying to edit the settings to a smooth performance and it still wouldn't run at a decent rate. I have a GTX660. But I'm glad to see that the game is going to be smoother for the actual release.
The patches never fixed anything for me sadly.
Performance went from shit to just as well as in BF3 over a few days of the beta. I'm sure there won't be any major problems in the full game.
Wait, developers used a beta to improve a game? I thought Beta was just a new word for "demo" these days. I actually had major improvements in FPS after the three patches, just game kept crashing on killcams sometimes in Conquest was the issue left.
Oh fucking goody, if only the beta was worth playing to begin with. Seriously, My end K:D ratio throughout the entirety of the beta was like 74:302 because of the christ-awful optimization. Let me tell you about that 3-10 frame rate on low everything running at like 800x640

You aren't there to get the best score, you're there to help make it a finished product.
Once I installed the beta Nvidia drivers, I went from 10-20 fps max settings to 60-70 fps instantly. I was able to feel the improvement each patch which was nice.
I couldn't play until the first patch, and then it just improved from there.
I couldn't even play the Beta as it would crash once the 'Loading' of the level was done, really fucking hope this is fixed for the final game.
BF3 ran pretty decent for me on a GTS450 on medium, but i recently upgraded to a GTX660 so I hope i can run it faster, do you guys think it's worth the pre-order?
I couldn't even play the Beta as it would crash once the 'Loading' of the level was done, really fucking hope this is fixed for the final game.
I had this. I had to upgrade my drivers, update PunkBuster and set the process priority to 'High' every time I booted it.
I played the Bad Company 2 beta way back when, and it ran fine until the full game came out. If anyone remembers, there was horrendous rubber banding and server issues on release that took a long time to fix. I never trust betas. [editline]19th October 2013[/editline] Still play the game now, though.
The beta actually ran better for me than BF3 did. Weird.
Well isn't improving the game pretty much the point of a beta version?
Once I installed the beta Nvidia drivers, I went from 10-20 fps max settings to 60-70 fps instantly. Rolling back just left me with bad performance. I guess its good to here that most people got better performance through the patches.

I'm guilty of that. A lot of people are really
I'm really tired of people going into betas purely for their own benefit and joy
tbh it was an open beta shortly before release. Pretty much was a demo at that point
The performance on my PC (which I'm fairly sure doesn't even hit minimum properly :v:) was hit and miss, I could have a decent framerate for ages. But as soon as an enemy appeared it went to shit. But it was still marginally playable. Hopefully they do improve the performance significantly for people with better rigs who suffered as much as I did.
except thats pretty much what most betas are these days hell, why would you even put a beta on a console game if the players on console cant report feedback through an ingame system?
the hell? that's confusing as shit I mean obviously no ones going to be a selfless beta tester and do it for fun, but you should always report what your see etc. but if you can't report, then, what's the point of beta? :v: Then again, I guess hype is the main reason these days.
