King Digital Entertainment went public this morning on the New York Stock Exchange after raising about $500 million in an IPO that valued the company at about $7.6 billion.
But the Candy Crush maker and litigious patent and trademark holder fell short of its valuation with a tepid response from the market; shares opened at $20.50 well below the expected $22.50, and are - as of this writing - trending downward ($20.29).
i too had failures when i tried ruling my subjects with an iron fist.
sad song, smallest violin, etc
Since Zynga got Don Mattrick, will King get Major Nelson to try and save their ass?
I'm still confused as to why they're valued at $7.6billion. 90% of their company is three games. So those three games are worth 6billion? Or 2 billion each?
lets spread rumors about king that will make it go down quicker
It's the worst day for an ipo over $500M+ in the last 15 years.
Damn King, get fucked. Lost 15% of 7.6 billion.

I was telling my stock-investing coworker he should short sell this shit stock but he laughed it off.
I'm telling ya man he'd be richer if he did it.

probably a smart move if he would've. shorting a ~$20 stock that is fairing worse than zynga first did (and zynga is now at ~$5) would be a great way to make a quick buck especially given its lack of IPs.

I think it goes along the lines of the fact that it had microtransactions and people were stupid enough to partake in it.
