Hello I am a c++ , c AVR, Java programmer looking to get into mobile game programming. I'm not that good with new and interesting game ideas so I thought is there anyone here that has an idea and is artistic that wants to work on a game together? my past game programming experiences are Hl2CTF if so please email me at : [email]marcin123b@gmail.com[/email]
Not very often you get someone looking for an Ideas guy :v:

I'm not free to do anything at all for the next week, but just to throw an idea out there (and I may be able to help in a week if you still haven't found anyone), I've always thought something in a similar vein to Death Worm would work superbly on a touchphone. [editline]13th August 2011[/editline] also something like that would be great to do content updates and stuff on. once the base is made you could update it with new levels with different tilesets/enemies/upgrades for your monster/whatever you decide to use as a pro/antagonist (hint: but to unlock upgrades/new levels you have to buy the upgrade version). [editline]13th August 2011[/editline] hey I'm actually really liking this idea. if you like the sound of it in a week's time I'm definitely up for making arts for it.
Death Worm esque game looks like it wouldn't be hard to code or to make 2D art for. Definately a good idea. As for selling it I'd rather not think about that now , we will see what we come up and start chopping up stuff and making trials etc. Yeah I can wait, I'm a coder for another game that is in it's Release Candidate( few small bugs )
Alright, sounds awesome! I'm free from the 20th onwards. I'll start thinking about an art direction or whatever in the mean time. I'd love to work on something like this, let's hope something comes to fruition  [editline]13th August 2011[/editline] Okay so I was idly looking at deathworm screenshots for inspiration. turns out there's already a remake of it and it looks fucking awesome. [url]https://market.android.com/details?id=com.playcreek.DeathWorm[/url] It doesn't matter though; I'll be able to think of something that uses the same mechanics that's different enough to be a different game. The way you control the worm is exactly how I was thinking it should be done!
What about some kind of torture game? You have a stick character and you get some tools to tortue him with, for example saws, nails, you get it. Then you can buy a couple of special things to tortue him with, with credits. You get these credits for how much damage you can make to him before he dies. :) I don't remember that name of the game but I have searched for ages both on Android and computer after it
Make a game where the objective is to draw a path that a 2d character would run on to avoid the screen hitting the character. The 2d character could be defined on a set path that would get them from point a to point b. The screen would be going forward at a continous momentum.
How about a series of arrows that you have to hit, that direct a robot through a maze. You can only get the arrows through trial and error and each arrow has a certain time before it turns.
how about a 4 direction based gravity game where you try and complete the course without hitting certain objects. you can hold multiple gravity points at the same. also you could have power ups like slow motion. or wall phasing where your character can go into like 1 cm of wall or something without consiquences... idk id play it [editline]17th August 2011[/editline] [QUOTE=Confuzzed Otto;31770081] I don't remember that name of the game but I have searched for ages both on Android and computer after it[/QUOTE] kinda like interactive buddy
I've always wished I had an old-school pixel-art RPG, in the vein of Suikoden II (fuckin' dig that game) or the old Final Fantasies (never actually played them, they just look pretty similar to what I'm talking about), that I could play on a mobile. It seems like the graphic technology is there, and such games usually have very simple gameplay, so the game probably maybe might not need as much in the way of coding as some other games, and instead would rely more on a huge amount of artwork and writing. FP has a few very talented pixel artists, and if you know the coding side of it, then you could potentially put together a pretty darn neat little mobile RPG. I don't think I could offer much in the way of artwork, but I'm a pretty decent writer, and I could work up a better plot than half the crap on store shelves. If you're interested in hashing the idea out a bit, hit me up in a PM. Course, a game like this would require a ton of art and a lot of time to properly complete. If you're looking for a quick project for a fun little arcade game, this is a pretty terrible idea. I'm a really awesome idea man, I just can't contribute anything tangible!
I have not done game art before in pixel style, however I guess I could help with some character design since it's fairly helpful to have a non-pixel character to base your pixel character on. Also, having lurked around the forums for a while I am just gonna put a good word in for ^BDA^ if you need a valuable ideas guy.
