• Internet Disconnects Whenever I Play a Game
    1 replies, posted
So I recently built a new Windows 7 computer and it's running fine and dandy except for when I launch a game from Steam (only non-Steam game I have is Guild Wars and that doesn't cause this problem). Whenever I start playing a game, about 10 minutes into it my internet craps out. The majority of the games I play are single player games, so they shouldn't even be doing anything to my internet. Also, I've tried it with Steam community disabled. My computer says I'm still "connected" to my wireless network, but I can't connect to anything and the Windows troubleshooting blames my modem. While this is going on for me other computers on my network can still access the internet. I've tried two separate PCI wireless adapters and it doesn't change anything. Also, I've done pretty much all of the common sense solutions; computer scan, drivers are updated, etc. Can anybody help me out?
I suggest reinstalling steam if you've not tried it already.
