So my birthday is coming up soon and I wanna upgrade my PC. I'd like to spend ~$50
Current specs are:
AMD 240 dual-core OC'd @ 3GHz
2GBs DDR2 667MHz
Foxconn A7VMX-K
XFX 4670 1GB
550W Ultra
I'm thinking about upgrading to a better HDD. I'm currently booting XP off a WD 40GB IDE with a WD 120GB SATA laptop hard drive that a friend gave me for a backup/storage/booting games off of.
I was hoping to find an HDD with preferably 640GBs+ of space.
I have plenty of extra HDDs laying around but they're all IDEs and my motherboard only has one IDE slot so I can only have my IDE DVD drive and 40GB HDD running right now.
I was thinking about getting a SATA CD/DVD burner so that I could have a burner and have an extra IDE open so that I could add another 40GB or 80GB IDE drive.
Or possibly a Cooler Master Hyper 212+ and a CD/DVD burner?
All ideas are very welcome.
Thanks in advance. :slick:
Fifty bucks?
you should get another 2GB of ram, you're not going to get a 640GB hdd for 50 bucks, if you want a new harddrive you're stuck with 320GB
Quality
Space
Cheap
Pick 2, but you're not going to get much for 50 :/

I don't know about that, I saw a 750GB Seagate on Newegg earlier for $60.
Also, I'd be willing to throw in another $10 to get a 500GB.

Another problem with that is that I would have to buy 2GB sticks of RAM because my motherboard only has two RAM slots, and 4GBs of DDR2 runs around $80 which is much higher than budgeted, other wise I would upgrade that without hesitation.

500 gigs for 50 bux.
Either that, or 2gigs of ram.

Can't get another 2GBs for previously posted reasons. Read the thread please.
I might end up getting a new case or a 500GB HDD.
Thanks fellas.
