The Atlanta-based company behind the Super Soaker water gun and Nerf toy guns has been awarded nearly $73 million in royalties from toymaker Hasbro Inc., according to the law firm King & Spalding.
Johnson Research and Development Co. and founder Lonnie Johnson have been in a royalty dispute with Hasbro since February, when the company filed a claim against the giant toy company. According to King & Spalding, which along with the A. Leigh Baier P.C. law firm represented Johnson, Hasbro underpaid royalties for the Nerf line toys from 2007 to 2012.
“In the arbitration we got everything we asked for,” said Atlanta attorney Leigh Baier. “The arbitrator ruled totally in Lonnie’s favor.” The attorney also said Johnson “is very pleased” with the outcome.

I've got a dollar store knockoff version of that gun on the right.
I remember having a super soaker that let me fire forwards and backwards at the same time.
Sometime around 1996~7 we used to have these huge battles at this property that was a mix of trees and thick foliage. One of the coolest things was we found out on certain models of the XP line of Super Soakers you could unscrew the nozzle and it would spray a massive cone of water all at once (but it would empty almost all of your pressure). We nicknamed it "the shotgun mod". At one point I spraypainted my XP 65 to a black-and-red theme.

I have the one in his right hand.
That thing ROCKED. It had three modes, and the last mode pretty much dumped all the water in like 5 seconds.
I knocked a kid of his bike with that baby. I loved it.
Anyone remember those Super Soakers with the huge backpacks you wear on the back?
Fuckin going ALL OUT.

STORY TIME.
Once upon a time I was at a summer camp. One of the activities had something to do with all of the kids running around trying to not get hit by literally ALL the staff with water guns... A few had the huge ass backpack ones. About midway through I was with a friend running the hell around. In the middle of a large(ish) field I found... An unoccupied backpack-based soaker thing.
Let's just say the tables were turned...
(Insert evil laugh)
When I was like 11 or 12 me and my friend were being bugged by some kid who wouldn't leave us alone, so we went into his house and filled his supersoaker with our piss and went outside.
"Oh sweet, you guys want to play now?"
"Yep."
[sp]We sprayed him with our piss.[/sp]
ah fuck, as a kid I remember me and my friends going out and trying to recreate Unreal Tournament and Quake 3 matches with supersoakers all the time, we'd set out levels and stuff around our block. Grab a few water balloons and water bombs and place them round the map along with those massive water tank things you could have on your back, such fun. Props to this dude for making some of the best summer memories ever.
I had the one that shot five ways, that thing was so fucking hard to pull the trigger all the way back so it could actually shoot out those five ways.

The one on the right was such an excellent flamethrower. Me and my friends (when I was twelve years old) used to load flammable mixtures of various high and low flammability lighter fluids and spray 15-20 foot streams of liquid fire that would light up entire patches of earth and anything in its' way with amazing efficiency.
Thanks to his sound engineering, I am not a burn victim despite my foolishness.
never had one of these or even heard of them
never had one of these or even heard of them
You poor bastard.
I think I read somewhere that today's Super Soakers aren't as powerful as the original ones from the 90s.

It doesn't explain why though. Seems like a asthetics based decision.
