• A riddle I was given earlier

"In general, it would be accepted if people in areas like Greece or even various countries in the Middle East (among many others) were to eat me today. If my sister had eaten me, though, she would have been branded a cannibal." I was told it's pertinent to a first name (modern, I'm assuming). I was wondering if anyone here could offer any insight into this riddle. It's stumped me thus far, so maybe one of you could take a crack at it.
uh, Kevin Bacon?
Eating your own kind. Your sister is your sibling.
I had some weird vibe about Hannibal, though it's not really related I don't think. Hannibal was a Greek general but it's more commonly related to Hannibal Lecter who was a cannibal. But that doesn't seem to answer anything. Maybe some sort of eastern cuisine? [editline]12th February 2012[/editline]
Eating your own kind. Your sister is your sibling.
Are you implying cannibalism isn't frowned upon in that part of the world? Not much of a riddle if the answer is in the riddle.
The riddle reveals a first name. It's somehow related to Greek food, but it's not a direct Greek dish. Maybe some ingredient? I'm not sure. I think the first name is female, though.
Was the riddle originally in English? Something might have gotten lost in the translation.
Yeah, originally in English. I think that it's a clue that the name has to do with a cuisine or ingredient or food eaten by the Greeks and Middle East. It's a first name of a girl that correlates to an ingredient or food in some way. (my friend just gave me a hint.)
Curry spice is Kari in Greek, which is a name. No clue if that's what it's getting at though.
It has to be some kind of food that also shares the name with a female, or have some sort of feminine sounding name. I'm assuming we have to solve what it is that is giving the riddle, and not the "sister". However, figuring out the sister first would probably lead us straight to the real answer. I know nothing of foreign foods, but I find it quite strange that it refers to specifically a "sister".
Maybe her sister is of a different culture? I think the main focus is the female name and ingredient or food link in the riddle
Is in cannibalism for a lamb to each another lamb? Cause that would make sense.
that doesn't make any fucking sense
Pork?
Kari and Curry is alike but that's already said. Is it a specific "Greek" or Asian ingredient? Or can it be from all over the world
Kari and Curry is alike but that's already said. Is it a specific "Greek" or Asian ingredient? Or can it be from all over the world
That was something I was thinking about... What if the "sister" isn't referring to a food/spice that's related to the answer for the riddle, but rather a neighboring country? Something that's quite common to eat in Greece or any countries in the Middle East, but not acceptable in neighboring countries.

Olive?
Is pig/pork a girls name?
Its a dog telling you the riddle?
the object asking the question is an animal, people can eat animals, and it's generally accepted to eat most types of livestock in this time period now (There are/were exceptions to this in certain cultures). and if an animal's sister ate said animal, the animal would be branded a cannibal. The question is what animal is it?
It's a bitch. Who knows, maybe they eat dogs in the middle east and greece but asians took the prize, and your sister is eating bitches, which in the western world is something else
