I'm getting a bit sceptical of Star Citizen now, I think with the amount of money they have gotten since their kickstarter and the sheer amount of stretch goals they have to hit, I don't think it'll live up to be what they promise. That or it will add in all their stretch goals but they won't fully fledged out.
It's like nobody knows how long the average game takes to develop.
To be fair, Star Citizen is not the "average" game, compared to the "average" game, their promises are extremely extravagant. Star Citizen will undoubtedly take longer to finish, if it ever actually gets to that point. I'm staying cautiously pessimistic until I see them actually start to deliver on more than single scenes and small prototypes. :v:
It's difficult to explain Star Citizen to outsiders, but if you spend the time to examine the whole picture, you can see that things are indeed getting done. Part of the last two years was just getting production started. 2015's going to be the big year when all the in-development modules drop, and the beginning of Squadron 42 hits (assuming no >6-month delays). The naysayers are still going to find something to complan about.
I'd be more interested in Star Citizen if it released modules on time and that they worked, if it wasn't pay 2 win with ships costing more then 100$ in real life cash and if it's fanbase wasn't so crazy.

As someone who is as capable as a lobotomized monkey when it comes to space sims, I like Elite: Dangerous more solely because of the fact that David Braben doesn't look like a twat
