I'm mildly excited about how much games can finally start expanding again. We'll now have an excess of CPU and GPU power (which even PC games didn't dare utilize because of the low-end requirements) that can be used to power larger worlds and more sophisticated AI. Less compromises, more ambition. Nah just kidding they'll just make the same CoD shit they always do just with higher texture resolution.
it's really annoying watching people complain that the PS4 isn't as good as their $2000 high-end gaming pc. Of course not, it's supposed to be fucking $500, it's not a technological powerhouse, it's an easy-to-use gaming device that's affordable.
I just hope these sell for PC games can stop being DX9 and 32 bit already

It's funny how the original Xbox used to be more like a PC, but now it's Playstation. The PS4 seems like the most promising next gen console.

It seems like Sony actually want to address the issues that PCs have faced for years, while consoles and other embedded systems have not suffered. The latency of sending data around a PC has always been an issue, it'll be interesting to see what they can squeeze out of the so-so hardware they'll be using with a unified system like this, it'll certainly be more impressive than an equally spec'ed PC if it actually works as they say.

If they re-release BF3 for the PS4 then maybe the consoles will get a lick of what it really looks like on the PC
