Fellow Facepunchers,
For a few years I have thinking about my future. Universities and all that rubbish. But I decided that I want to study abroad in Europe.
So I come to all of you and ask: Are there any good universities in your area? I would absolutely love to travel and get to see new sights, as well as maybe learn parts and bits of new language. I plan to also start a journal which I will post my travels and entries in! Maybe I could even travel all of Europe to meet with fellow Facepunchers! I am also open to any other colleges in the your area with different types of studies. I speak English, Spanish, and German if anyone would like to know.
List of studies:
Biology
International Relations
Psychology
Pre-Medical
Anatomy

Can a mod please change the title from College in Europe to Universities/Studies in Europe? Thanks.

How old are you? you realise that colleges (In England) are for 16-18, right?
Are you planning on studying as part of a exchange program, or just applying on your own?

It's more of a college for economics from what I am reading but I will be sure to read it over.
Either vocational school or university.
First one you can find anywhere and becoming a something or a carpenter probably isnt high on your list.
To get into a uni or college in EU countries you need to do local exams, your grades mean nothing, your exams done in US mean nothing.

It is more of a on my own thing. I am looking around my area for exchange programs though......that would be awesome.

If you are doing it on your own, you'll want to start way in advance, to make sure you have the paperwork necessary to actually stay in the country.
If you're doing it with a university here, they'll help you with most of that.

The difference between colleges and universities in the US is that Universities offer graduate programs, and are often more focused on research, i think.

I was thinking about going studying in the U.S for a few years (2-3) and then go to Europe on some sort of exchange program. Although going on my own does provide for knowledge of paper work and individual experiences that sounds interesting.

Che boludo it seems we are indeed. What brings you too study in Sweden?
I go to Dublin City University, It's pretty awesome. If you're intrested in Ireland then you could try Trinity College Dublin or University College Dublin. For Medicine you could try the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.

In my case, I imagine being homesick shouldn't be a problem for me... but I still haven't had the chance to actually prove it :v:

To be honest when you go into Europe, you will probably encounter a slightly different system to yours. We don't really have majors and minors as Americans do (in a lot of cases) but instead you enroll into a faculty of the University which focuses on areas, like medicine, biology, information technology etc.
You get a list of courses usually which are compulsory and overtime a set of optional specialisation courses more or less.
As to credit systems - does vary from Uni to uni, nation to nation.
keep in mind that as a foreigner and non-eu citizen you will always have a foreigner fee even if the Uni is free for people from the nation. Though those tend to be lower than the prices of US unis as far as I know.
Be prepared for some more expensive living though. Electronics, in some cases food as well are generally more expensive.
Don't study in Europe...
unless you want to smell your own farts and be a douche bag.
