An Adelaide woman has been put on a good behaviour bond for animal cruelty after being convicted over starving 13 cats.
Source: http://www.9news.com.au/national/2016/11/23/12/48/thirteen-cats-die-after-being-abandoned Video included. Blurred out corpses.
I have a major soft spot for cats and knowing this shit happens and I can't do anything about it feels awful. I despise anyone who abuses vulnerable ones like animals or children. So glad the surviving cat was rehomed.
Woah, had a similar story in my city, a woman who used to breed cats dumped the failures in a shed or something, with some of them starving to death. Her neighbors found out about it by the smell. Our family took one of the cats home, not sure what happened to the rest.
Fuck people who abuse animal. Getting an animal to throw it away once it's grown up is dumb. Cats, dog and any domestic animal.
The sad thing is that something like this doesn't seem too uncommon.
Animal abuse is shockingly common. I volunteer with a rescue organization and foster cats and kittens until they're ready for adoption. The first cat we got was a pregnant mama who had been trapped in a container of some kind and thrown out by her previous owners. Her front paws were ragged from trying to claw her way out. Thankfully, she recovered under our care and had a litter of healthy kittens, though, and everybody went on to permanent homes! She was a very sweet and affectionate cat. I don't have any pictures of her, sadly, but here are her kittens! He suffered burns and infections. His tail had to be amputated, he lost one of his eyes, and nearly lost one of his back legs. He recovered and went on to be adopted, though! His fosters said he was a real sweetheart. [Editline]/[/editline] I live in the Ferguson area, and after the riots a couple of years ago, there was a huge surge in emergency vet visits from outdoor pets and strays who had been caught outside in the police tear gas and couldnt escape. They were stuck out there for hours, choking on that shit. A lot of them died, many others had to have their eyes removed and/or were permanently blinded. Nobody really reported on that.

I hope this vile bitch is barred from owning pets again. It fucking disgusts me when people abandon animals, let alone when they leave them trapped inside a home with no chance of escape. The laws for animal abuse are WAY too soft. People should be doing hard time for this shit.
Disgusting. Anyone who abuses an animal is a piece of shit and a psychopath.
My family loves cats. That's why we have 15 of the lazy buggers living in luxury at our house, eating more food than we do. I'd like them a lot more if more of them liked me. Right now only 2 of them really like me enough to wander in my room to want the petting, and they're mortal enemies. Seeing cats being abused like that is horrible, and I don't think anybody living at my place could stand for it. A majority of our cats I think are ones that actually either just wandered up and started living at our place because we leave food outside or are a result of those cats having kittens and we took in the ones that wouldn't live so great in other family's houses.

I don't know the full story, but from what our sponsor said, the man's wife willfully surrendered the animal (along with several others who were in various states of distress) claiming the bleaching was an accident (despite very obviously not being an accident). His wife fancies herself a one-woman animal rescue organization, and adopts cats from all over the area. Most of them end up badly injured or ill, because her husband is incredibly violent, and she is incredibly irresponsible. I found an interview with the fucker here, but there's no story about the bleaching specifically. He starts talking about how much his wife loves cats and wants to save all the kitties later on the interview. This guy is a real son of a bitch, and I pray a court order keeps more animals out of these monsters' hands. Unfortunately, there's not much that can be done about it. Animal abuse laws can be very difficult to enforce properly. There have been a lot of instances where disgusting, inhumane shit has gone down simply because nobody has the legal authority to act. Last year, I spotted a stray pomeranian, likely abandoned from a puppy mill, running through the street. I pulled over and tried to catch the dog, when it ran into somebody's backyard. An overweight, middle aged woman was on the rear porch and the dog ran up to her. She said the pup was a stray that had started coming by a few weeks earlier, and she had been locking it up and feeding it, but didn't really know what else to do. She was disabled and couldn't drive, had no money for a vet, was basically feeding the thing table scraps, etc. I asked her if I could take a look at the dog, since I worked with animals through our rescue. The poor thing was a mess. Her hair was a solid matte, she was malnourished, and worst of all she had a tumor the size of a softball hanging off her belly. It may have been just been a huge cyst or a fatty tumor, or it may have been malignant, but there was no way to tell for sure without taking her a vet. I told her the dog needed immediate medical attention, and that if she wasn't able to provide it I could foster her through my rescue group and make sure she got the help she needed. I showed the woman our website, and even called up the president of our organization and let her speak directly to the woman so that she would know we were safe and legitimate. She refused to let us take the dog in for treatment. It wasn't even her dog, by her own admission. It was just a stray that she had captured and was keeping in a screened in porch in the backyard. The only thing keeping it in was a low baby gate that it kept climbing over. I called our vet, and she went over later that day to try to get a look at the dog. For free, of course. She just wanted to give a checkup and offer her medical opinion. The woman wouldn't even let her see the animal. Outright refused to let us help this poor thing while it suffered with a soft-ball sized tumor. This dog was only seven pounds or so; this tumor was fucking massive, and she wouldn't even let our vet take a look. But we were powerless to do anything about it. Even though this dog was a stray, in this woman capturing it and feeding it, she became its legal owner. We filed a request with local animal control to force an involuntary surrender of the animal for its own welfare, but they couldn't do anything either. The laws for the welfare of the animal just weren't in place. I drove past her house every day for weeks trying to catch this dog out in the street again, so I could nab her and take her in for treatment, but I never got the opportunity. That poor little dog probably suffered for the rest of her life. [editline]m[/editline] We are a no-kill rescue organization, btw. The only time we ever euthanize is in the event that the animal is suffering badly and there's nothing we can do to help. Otherwise, we go to some pretty extreme lengths to save the lives of the animals we rescue, including major surgeries, rehabilitation, training, and other expensive and time-consuming treatments and care. We explained all this to the lady, so she knew that we would do everything possible to save this dog. Even if the dog was dying, we wouldn't have euthanized unless she was also suffering. Certain kinds of cancer are relatively painless. We would have given her proper care and attention to ensure that she was comfortable until she died naturally. If we had to euthanize, it would only because she was suffering, and there was no other recourse to treat or prevent that suffering. This woman kept the dog for entirely selfish reasons, and it very likely died in pain because of that. And there was nothing we could do about it. Makes me fucking sick. [editline]23rd November 2016[/editline] Also, funny snippet from that interview:
Me: And for what it is worth, Trump is a charlatan in my view. I think he is going to one day just up and say “Ha Ha. I tricked you all! I was kidding about this president thing” FA: I hate to say it but you may be right. I know if I had his money I sure as hell wouldn’t be wasting my time running for president Me: I think you should come out for Bernie Sanders. He is much closer to your political views FA: I got to say Bernie definitely seems to be an honest down to earth guy Me: Yep. And your enemy is Wall Street, not the black guy next door and note Bernie doesn’t have a lot of black guy support. But then again, he is Jew, which would complicate things for you people
You heard it here first. The largest KKK chapter in the country supported Bernie "The Jew" Sanders.
