The team behind the Microsoft Office Twitter account made a hilarious mistake after replying to a Twitter user complaining about 2016 and their response has gone viral.

Not really newsworthy but some lighthearted articles are always good.
Mistake? I thought it was an intentional joke
2007 was best Word.
1995 word was best word
How is 900 retweets viral
we all know 2010 word is the best word, even my professor said that
2007 was best Word.
oh fuck no, 2003 was the best. Everything past that I've had to spend actual work time looking for the simplest thing.
#bringback2003

Didn't you know? 900 is the threshhold.
Also, do we really need an article because someone fucked up using Twitter.
2016 is great if you're writing a mathematical report and don't know how to use LaTeX
only crippling feature of 2016 is the forced MS account signin to use the dictionary, like wtf? it has a thesaurus already built in so its not like the feature isnt there
besides that, they could do something about the fucking bizzare and arcane mannor of applying alternating page numbers, like holy fuck its fucking awful to try ans get i,ii,iii 1,2,3,4,5, iv, v, vi in that order, it requires fucking black magic to do properly

welcome to 2016 when even the most credible news sources are using twitter as their source. Reading news is so pointless these days I don't even know why I bothered to read them again. My life was going way better when I gave no fucks to news for a couple months
I kind of prefer the newer versions of Word. The newest version was very comfortable to use for academic purposes. But, I still do have a very much love for the good ol' 2007 version.
There's just something about it that doesn't feel too modern, but yet so simplistic and has a good feeling when being used.

The tweet quoting that tweet is at like 30k+ retweets

libreoffice best.
Bring back Clippy!
I don't see how else to interpret that tweet.

Word, 2016 has been the worst year yet
Word, 2016 has been the worst year yet
Real talk, this is why punctuation is important.
I wouldn't be surprised if this was an automatic bot response or something.

Fiendish.

It must be a slow news day
libreoffice best.
Libreoffice is the shit, and if anyone cares about the UI, they are adding ribbon in the next update.
How is the Microsoft Twitter at fault? They aren't the simpleton who screwed up such an easy sentence.

you mean forced account sign in just to do fucking anything

I do not know, but it is higher than what our swedish media count as a "twitterstorm", which is often not more than 10 retweets.

I mean if you're using it via an office 365 sub, then it's kind of a no brainer. If you have an online subscription you're going to have to be logged into said licensed account.
2010 hands down the best word.
2013-2016 is okay but I dislike the move away from licensing to Microsoft ID profiles.
I've worked IT on all years of Microsoft platforms since 2003. 2007 was alright too.
they are adding ribbon in the next update.
"oh hey, lets port that feature a good chunk of people migrated to our software to escape from..."
:disgust:

That isn't a problem if you're not using the always online subscription shit.
