I recently got an HP Proliant server that I'm going to use as a email and web server for myself.
But I installed server 2003, and noticed 1 of my drives are missing.
I'm missing a 40 GB drive.
The only one that seems to show up is the one that the operating system is on.( 10 gb C: )
But in bios, and device manager it says it exists.
But in the drive properties it says "RAW" and the name of the drive is nothing, just blank.
.. How do I fix?
This is my first post here in quite awhile..
But follow these instructions:
Right click on my computer. Select manage, when a window appears that says "computer management".
Then:
Storage Devices->Disk Management-> choose the drive which has no label.
Right click on it, then go to format. Click yes, then when a dialogue appears, enter the volume label. Then click OK, and let it do it's work.
After that's completed. right click on the drive again and go to "change drive letter and paths". When a new dialogue appears click "add". Choose "assign the following drive letter". Choose the letter, then click ok.. the drive is set, and ready to go.

That works! Thanks for that, I'll do that next time.

You should have made sure he was aware it would erase everything from it permanently, although he seems to not have minded.
