The band draws on influences from a number of musical traditions, from funk to Hip Hop, and is known for an unconventional style sometimes described as "avant-groove". MMW has found moderate mainstream success—often working with noted guitarist John Scofield—and touring on the jam band circuit.
Recently I've been getting into this brilliant trio. I've never really listened to jazz before, but these guys blow my mind away. I'm not very good at explaining music, so I'll let it explain itself instead! They also got a lot of awesome stuff from their earlier albums, so if you're going to check them out, make sure you also give them a listen!
I've heard a few songs and I can say this band is very interesting, worth a try.
I love jazz and funk, so I've listened to most of their albums on spotify.
Sounds interesting, I might start listening to them actively.
For anyone interested: I found out about special edition of The Radiolarians Collection called Radiolarians: The Evolutionary Set Content:

Radiolarians I, II and III
Bonus tracks
A CD with 10 remixes
Previously unreleased 70 minute live album
Double LP containing highlights from the three Radiolarians albums
DVD with a film titled "Fly In A Bottle" directed by Billy Martin
http://www.amazon.com/Radiolarians-Evolutionary-Set-Medeski/dp/B002R8EASG/ref=sr_1_2?s=gateway&ie=UTF8&qid=1285618305&sr=8-2 Sadly though, it's only released in America, and importing is expensive as hell!
They're not my thing. Too inside.
