One person has been killed and two others have been injured by a lightning strike at a NSW golf course.
The three people were struck by a bolt of lightning at the Hawks Nest Golf Club, on Sanderling Avenue, Hawks Nest, north of Newcastle, at about 12.55pm (AEDT).
A 65-year-old man suffered a cardiac arrest after the lightning strike and died at the golf course, NSW Ambulance confirmed in a statement.
A 62-year-old man and a 64-year-old man who were also struck were taken by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service to John Hunter Hospital.
They are said to be suffering "tingling in the extremeties" and are in a stable condition.
A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Sydney, Newcastle, the central coast and the Blue Mountains/Hawkesbury areas.
Shocking experience.
My uncle's best friend got struck my lightning and died after my uncle handed him his umbrella while they were playing golf in the rain.
That's odd, in Sweden we tend to tell our children about this around the age of six or so. Why do you yanks refuse common sense so devotedly?
I mean, really, just look at all the presidents you've elected, when will the fog clear?

This was in Australia, dumbass.
Well, my bad, then, to have common sense you're required to be a real country instead of just desperately imitating one...

Your trolling isn't even funny.
It doesn't always rain when lightning strikes.
It doesn't strike out of the blue, there are ways to tell when it's likely to strike.

Actually, it's a great sport since it has little political attachments, and lacks the condoning of hooliganism and fanatics. Rest assured, if all football fans liked golf, there would be a lot less rioting and such.
