I am looking for a new speaker system. Now, I'm just wondering if there is a good speaker set for under 100.
2.1 will due but if you can find a 5.1 for under 100 then that would be good.
I am certainly looking at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836116024.
The only thing I need is that it has to have a subwoofer.
Thank you guys and gals in advance.
Those Logitech speakers birkett posted are very very good.
I have 2.1 speakers from logitech myself and i love them.

I have that. And I absolutely love them.

I also have these and I'd recommend them. They're pretty good quality for the price, I've never had any problems with them.

These are the ones I would have bought if I had been thinking at the time.
Logitech X-540's as said above, reliable, sturdy and nice quality for such a low price
I bought myselfs Logitechs, expecting nothing much, so I turned the Bass Volume to max and started my music, and it was like BOOM and I was actually surprised it was that powerful, especially because they only were 60€

They're on Amazon for $90. Best 2.1s in that price range.
It's a bit pricey (99$), but they're incredible.

They're over your budget, but if you're willing to spend more (or find them used) you'll be pretty damn happy with these.
I'm gonna be ordering the Logitech X-540's soon, i'm just slightly worried about the rear speaker length as i've seen mentioned in some customer reviews.

The rear speaker length is fairly decent but in some cases it would be too short, say if you wanted to route the cables along the edge of a standard sized bedroom to reach the opposite wall they probably wouldn't reach. My friend picked up a couple of extenders for his setup and he was able to route the cables nicely behind everything. You can probably pick up a good length of extensions from a local electronics or audio store for less than $25.

Once again, as it has been posted in this thread, these are the way to go, I love these speakers!
Save up your cash and buy a G51 set.

Those are near field monitors, not really suited for day to day use like filling a room with music or watching movies with dolby effects. Great for working at a desk, monitoring levels and needing crisp exact reproduction.
Don't get a 5.1 for $100 - Go for a better 2.1 instead.
But if you can get some more money, go for the Logitech Z-5500:

fuck no, absolute shit that isn't even worth 50$
Get some Limited Edition KRK Rokit 6 Ferrari Red's I just got :smug: the best monitors(studio speakers) I'v ever had, sure youl need like 300$ more bucks but it would be worth it.
M-audio aren't balanced but they will work well for affordable high spectrum sound
Bose are bull shit, tend to be plasticy and are never worth the price they toot.
Logitech in all seriousness are the best bet for your money, I used to have a 50$ 40 watt 2.1 and they still work great for normal personal use.
i would say best 2.1 speakers.
Logitech Z3e

I had the logitech x-530. The x-540 is a better version of that, and you'll probably only upgrade from that if you listen to music all the time, like me.
G51 is the way to go. :frogc00l:
I'm thinking about the x-540.
And to be honest, if I wanted to spend around 360 dollars for 5.1 speakers then I would just save up a little more for 7.1 speakers.

Fuck yeah *high five*
